Jar-style seafood ramyeon breakfast set in Aewol, Jeju: Mungaeomeong

Mungaeomeong is a Korean restaurant on the beach in Gamun-dong, Aewol, Jeju, known for its jar-style seafood ramyeon. The morning-only Mungae Jar Seafood Ramyeon set (₩19,000 → ₩15,000, served until 10:30 a.m.) came loaded with boiled octopus, blue crab, abalone, fried shrimp, mussels, and 4 pieces of sushi. The spicy broth and generous portion made it a solid breakfast, hangover cure, or solo meal.

Aewol noodle restaurant with kids' tableware, rich broth: Handam Guksu

Handam Guksu Gwakji Aewol Branch is a gogi-guksu (pork noodle soup) restaurant right in front of Handam Beach in Aewol, Jeju, where every seat looks out over the ocean. The writer ordered the bone-broth pork noodles, dongchimi bibim noodles (cold radish-water mixed noodles) and dombe naengsuyuk (sliced cold pork on a board) to share, and found the bone broth as rich as sundaeguk with generous helpings of meat. With kids' tableware and a high chair ready, Handam Guksu is an easy stop while traveling around Aewol with children.

Suitcase-safe gamtae oranda souvenirs at a Jeju Dongmun Market shop

Cheongchuni Oranda is a handmade snack shop inside Jeju Dongmun Market in Jeju City, making oranda (crisp puffed rice snack) and gwajul (fried rice cracker) on site. The writer picked gamtae, hallabong and Udo peanut flavors, 3 bags for 10,000 won, and the bags came home in a suitcase without a single one breaking; the writer's parents found them not too sweet and liked the gamtae flavor most. Light and shelf-stable at room temperature, Cheongchuni Oranda is an easy last-day pick for gifts for parents or the office.
