Gupo Chinese restaurant weekday dinner: eggplant mandu, Gupo Jjambbong

Gupo Jjambbong Gupo Main Branch is a Chinese restaurant at 48 Sirang-ro in Buk-gu, Busan that specializes in jjambbong (spicy seafood noodle soup) made with sanghwang mushroom noodles. A weekday dinner reservation meant walking straight in, and the table held eggplant mandu (dumplings) at 7,000 won, small tangsuyuk (sweet and sour pork) at 18,000 won, a large health-tonic sanghwang, sweet potato stem, octopus and abalone jjambbong at 16,000 won, and seafood platter jjajang (black bean noodles) at 9,000 won. With single-diner tables, an etiquette zone and apple cider vinegar water, Gupo Jjambbong is a local favorite full of families.
