Think Fruit in Hongdae: a soufflé pancake stop after tteokbokki

Think Fruit (띵크프룻) is a soufflé pancake dessert café in Hongdae. I went with a friend after we'd eaten tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes) and wanted dessert. I'd found it by searching Naver as a soufflé pancake hotspot, and it was the best soufflé pancake I've ever had in Korea! Highly recommend!

Getting to Think Fruit: 5 minutes on foot from Hongik Univ. Station

Think Fruit is closer to the Gyeongui-Jungang Line side of Hongik Univ. Station, and I think it took about 5 minutes on foot. I followed Google Maps, and if you follow the railway-like walking path, you'll spot it quickly!

The café is bigger than I expected, which surprised me. Big picture windows let you see all around, so it feels open. Up close there's a huge soufflé photo on the wall, and I thought, aha! This is it, and went in.

Think Fruit opening hours and atmosphere

Think Fruit is open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., with last order at 8 p.m. A sign saying KEEP CALM AND EAT STRAWBERRY greets you, and the café is so pretty that it put me in a good mood.

Think Fruit sells Häagen-Dazs ice cream, and I hear it was listed as a dessert hotspot in the 2023 and 2024 Blue Ribbon Survey. So exciting! The takeaway drink bottles are super cute too.

The inside is spacious with plenty of seats and an open feel. We grabbed a spot by the window, snapped a few quick photos, and off we went to order!!

What we ordered at Think Fruit and the prices

We ordered Think Fruit's signature strawberry soufflé pancake (₩21,000) and an iced latte (₩6,000), and my friend got a peach yogurt smoothie (₩8,000). It's a soufflé hotspot, so signature first! Yum, this is so good.

How long is the wait for the soufflé pancake?

We were told Think Fruit's soufflé pancake is only started once you order and takes about 20 minutes. When you order, they ask whether you want your drinks first or together with the pancake, and we took the drinks first!

The drinks arrived, and they're big and so pretty.

Think Fruit's peach yogurt smoothie and iced latte

The best drink at Think Fruit was the peach yogurt smoothie my friend picked. The latte was rich and nutty and good too, but the peach yogurt smoothie was really, really good!

I fished out the peach pieces first, then drank it through the yogurt straw, and it was ㅈㅁㅌ (insanely good)! So delicious. With a name like Think Fruit, it seems the fruit drinks and desserts are all great!

The iced latte was rich~~~ and nutty too, perfect for hot weather! I was worn out by the heat, so it was very cool and refreshing.

And a little while later, ta-da, the strawberry soufflé pancake appears. I think we waited about 20 to 25 minutes.

Think Fruit's strawberry soufflé pancake comes as a fluffy soufflé pancake piled with strawberries, whipped cream and Häagen-Dazs strawberry ice cream. Ta-da! The looks are unreal! These are the café photos I'd been saving up!

We were so happy that my friend and I squealed and took a ridiculous number of photos!

A fluffy-looking soufflé pancake with lots of strawberries, whipped cream, and even real Häagen-Dazs strawberry ice cream! They even drizzle syrup evenly, what a nice touch! The looks are seriously unreal!

I tried the strawberry ice cream first, and there really is a scoop of Häagen-Dazs on top. And there are so many strawberries, I was shocked! This pancake is worth every won of the ₩21,000!

When I picked up the knife to cut it, it was so fluffy that you could just grab it with a fork. I tried it with a little whipped cream and a strawberry on top, and it just melts in your mouth!

Better than Japan's soufflé hotspots: would I go back to Think Fruit?

Think Fruit's strawberry soufflé pancake was even better than the soufflé pancake places in Japan, and next time I'd like to go back for the fig or peach soufflé. From here on we were too busy eating to talk, it was war haha. We told each other to eat slowly while wolfing it down.

It isn't even strawberry season, yet there were this many strawberries. A fantastic combination. Two thumbs up, seriously! I dipped the fresh strawberries in cream too! Think Fruit was a dessert spot I want to visit again.
