Isu Station pizza pub: four-slice taste test and pale ale, Raymond
In short
Raymond Isu Branch is a pub-style pizza restaurant near Isu (Chongshin Univ.) Station in Dongjak, Seoul, serving American-style big pizza slices and world-champion craft beer. On a day out to buy mammoth bread at Jean Boulangerie Isu, the visit to Raymond Isu Branch came around 5 p.m., with four slices (pepperoni, cheese, American Bulbeok and bacon Hawaiian), truffle fries and a pale ale. The slices seemed bigger than Costco's and the beer had a smooth aroma and finish. Raymond Isu Branch is a good place to pick slices to your taste over a beer.

What is Raymond Isu Branch like?
Raymond Isu Branch is a pizza place near Isu Station that serves American-style pizza together with world-champion craft beer. I had gone to Jean Boulangerie's Isu branch to buy mammoth bread (a big sweet bun), and then we decided to eat pizza before heading home, so we stopped at Raymond. American-style pizza plus world-champion craft beer is a killer combo! We came around 5 p.m., and looking at it now, the Lunch Set is great value. Nice!

Raymond sells only world-champion craft beer. Once inside, we found not just pizza but chicken, fries, tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes) and lots of other sides, so watch out if you struggle to decide! Raymond is open from 11:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m.
The inside is American pub style too! Hani said she was hungry, so we grabbed a seat in a hurry, ordered and took photos. I was curious about the award-winning beer, so that's where my dilemma started... Have a beer or not? I have to, haha. The beer here was the real deal!

How do you order at Raymond Isu Branch?
At Raymond Isu Branch you order on a tablet at each table, and an open kitchen lets you see the big slices and whole pizzas. We first sat at the end, then moved to a middle seat with strong air conditioning. You order by tablet, but there were so many options that I went to look in person, asked a staff member about the signature items, and sat back down, haha.

Ordering is done on the tablet at each table. The Ray Set and Mond Set are both good value and I almost went with one, but we decided to order separate single items instead.

Pizza, chicken and side menu at Raymond Isu Branch
Pizza at Raymond Isu Branch can be ordered by the slice or as a whole pizza. Options include pepperoni, bacon Hawaiian, cheese, mac & cheese, spicy fusilli, American Bulbeok (Korean-style bulgogi) and Sobullik pizza.

The chicken menu is varied too: mac & cheese chicken, boneless fried chicken, old-fashioned seasoned chicken, spicy soy chicken, Cheongyang chili mayo chicken, boneless half-and-half chicken and more.
The sides are the best part: pepperoni tomato spaghetti, bacon cream spaghetti, mac and cheese, truffle fries, nacho cheese, pepperoni tteokbokki, rose tteokbokki, fried milk with nachos, assorted sausages with nachos and more.

Ordering four slices, truffle fries and a pale ale
At Raymond Isu Branch we ordered four slices: big pepperoni, cheese, American Bulbeok and bacon Hawaiian, plus truffle fries. I felt I had to taste the beer, so I added a pale ale too! Hani had a Coke Zero.
After ordering and taking photos, I went to the self-serve bar and brought back sauces, tissues, crushed pepper and more. There was cold iced water and tea too, which was nice.
A little later a crowd of customers came in, so our photos were perfectly timed. The food arrived without much of a wait.

How are the truffle fries at Raymond?
The truffle fries at Raymond Isu Branch are thin, crispy fries served with ketchup and cheese sauce. They came out first, and they were crunchy with a strong truffle aroma. Delicious! The kind of snack that calls for beer!

The pepperoni pizza, bacon Hawaiian pizza, cheese pizza and the beer arrived too.

How big and how good are the slices at Raymond?
The slices at Raymond Isu Branch are truly big. They seemed bigger than Costco pizza. We were hungry, so it was time for a proper mukbang (eating show).

The Bulbeok pizza came out last, completing the table, and we dug in. The slices are so big that cutting them, rolling them up and eating by hand tastes amazing.

Even one slice fills you up. My favorite was the Hawaiian, Bongbong's was the Bulbeok, and for Hani the cheese pizza is always number one. Tastes really are personal, haha.

Is Raymond's world-champion craft beer really good?
The pale ale I had at Raymond Isu Branch smelled great and went down really smoothly. Anyway, it was a tasty afternoon of pizza and beer. World-champion beer! Even to someone who doesn't know much about beer, it was really good.
We did the review event properly and got bead ice cream as dessert too!
On the way out after paying, we grabbed candy, haha. Hani and I each took one and ate it up on the way. Next time, instead of pizza and beer at Raymond, I want to have pizza with tteokbokki!

Outside, we ate Jean Boulangerie scones and cookies and headed off to explore Isu Station's Namseong Sagye Market. Let's go!
