Jeju haejangguk with easy parking for families: Hyeopjae On Ttukbaegi
Hyeopjae On Ttukbaegi is a haejangguk (hangover soup) restaurant on Hyeopjae 2-gil in Hallim-eup, Jeju City, known for bomal (sea snail) haejangguk and abalone pollock soup. Arriving by car with a child, the writer found plenty of parking spots around Hyeopjae On Ttukbaegi and ate the sea snail haejangguk and the abalone pollock soup, both 13,000 won, with a short but clean set of side dishes: salted seafood, seaweed stems and dongchimi (water radish kimchi). The slightly peppery sea snail broth was the most memorable dish, and with a 6,000-won kids' beef haejangguk on the menu it made an easy family meal on a Jeju trip.
