I visited Kkogap Sanghoe, a Myeongchon, Ulsan favorite that's an all-private-room restaurant with even a lunch special. A little Ulsan hotspot outing~
I went in the evening, but seeing the lunch special made me want to come back for it. Lunch special restaurants in Buk-gu, Ulsan is honestly one of my most-searched terms.

Kkogap Sanghoe (꼬갑상회) sits right by the road at 53 Myeongchon 23-gil, Buk-gu, Ulsan, so it's easy to spot. Park at the rear lot and you get 1 hour free.

I'd love to stamp my way through the whole lunch special at Kkogap Sanghoe, a Myeongchon, Ulsan favorite. This time I had the best of the best — the squid bossam.

How many people does the cuttlefish bossam feed?
We ordered the squid bossam plus two bowls of rice. It stayed steaming hot all the way through.
When the main dish arrived I was genuinely surprised — the portion was huge. Just the two of us ordered it, so I asked: how many people does this feed? 3-4 people, they said.
If we hadn't ordered rice bowls too, the two of us might have finished it, but with the rice we had a bit left over. They gave us a divided takeout container, so even as a couple you can go for it and just pack up the leftovers.
From above it already looks like a lot, but from the side it's like — how many stories tall is this bossam tower? There's a whole range of wrap greens too, and since angelica is one of my favorites, tucking a little into each wrap made the flavor incredible.
What comes on the bossam platter
At this Myeongchon, Ulsan favorite, enjoy it all with a variety of sides. It's a feast for the eyes as much as the mouth. Beyond the basic ssamjang and salted shrimp, there are 3 kinds of salted seafood, 3 kinds of kimchi, and plump shrimp jang.
The squid was so plump, with an amazing tender-but-chewy bite.
That grilled smoky flavor runs right through it, so even the vegetables ended up tasting amazing. Squid plus bossam together feels like a rich person's combo. Hahaha.
The water here is heotgae (hangover-tree) water, so even the water tastes clean. I'm smitten! Smitten!
Taking the leftover bossam home for my kid's dinner
The takeout containers were genuinely great. Solved dinner for the kid who couldn't come along with us!!! By the time we got home it had cooled down a bit, but she still finished it all without leaving anything. We said next time we'll all come together.
We didn't stop there — we even grabbed coffee before our short date with my husband wrapped up.
Lunch special stamp collected at this Myeongchon, Ulsan favorite! Coming back with my kid next time! I think I'll be in and out of Kkogap Sanghoe a lot.
