  • Ampong sundae gukbap: ₩11,000
  • One plate of sliced head meat: ₩15,000

These are the items and prices I ordered at the time of my visit. There were also Gwangju-style zucchini gukbap and Jeju-style bracken fern gukbap. You could choose between spicy and mild broths according to your preference.

What were the side dishes and kimchi like?

The basic spread included glutinous rice, roasted seaweed, salted shrimp, and kimchi.

Before the gukbap arrived, I wrapped the glutinous rice in roasted seaweed and ate it. It was a nice small bite while waiting for the meal.

I heard that the Halmaep kimchi was made in-house. It was spicy for my taste, but I kept reaching for it.

How filling were the ampong sundae gukbap and side dishes?

The ampong sundae gukbap had generous amounts of ampong sundae and tojongsundae (traditional Korean blood sausage). It was enjoyable to pick out the different ingredients, and one bowl of gukbap alone was quite filling.

The sliced head meat was tender and moist. One plate felt like a generous amount for two people to share.

The meat dumplings were large and served warm. They went well with the gukbap.

I also received bibimbap through a review event. With the bibimbap included, the meal was even more filling.

Overall, I felt the portions were good for the menu prices. The gukbap with plenty of sundae and the moist sliced head meat stayed with me, while the kimchi was spicy for my taste.
