Camel Orzo is at Unit 102, 1F, Urban Peak Sangmu, 261 Uncheon-ro, Seo-gu, Gwangju. It is open daily from 11:00 to 23:00, with last orders at 21:00. Break time is 15:30–17:00 on weekdays and 16:00–17:00 on weekends.

Parking is free for 2 hours on weekdays and weekends at the Suwicheon commercial parking lot and Nice Park Gwangju Chipyeong parking lot. At Pyeonghwa Park underground parking, ₩2,000 per table is supported for 1 hour when you bring your parking ticket, and Megabox annex parking is free for 1 hour on weekdays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. There are plenty of places to park near the restaurant, so it would be handy to check ahead! I visited right at opening on a weekday and found a space at the Suwicheon commercial parking lot, so that’s where I parked~!

What is Camel Orzo in Sangmu District like?

Camel Orzo is on the first floor of Urban Peak in Sangmu District. Its exterior is neat but still has that unmistakable Italian restaurant feel, so it was easy to spot even from a distance!

If you’re looking for a lovely Italian restaurant in Sangmu District, I recommend Camel Orzo!!

The interior has warm lighting and a cozy, relaxing feel. There are tables for four as well as larger tables where several people can sit together! The overall atmosphere is so nice that I think it would work not only for dates, but also group gatherings and family meals :)

It had been a while since my husband and I had enjoyed a relaxed lunch at such a nice Italian restaurant, and it felt like we were on a date again >< haha

Camel Orzo menu and lunch sets

Here is the menu at Camel Orzo in Sangmu District. They serve a variety of Italian dishes, including salads, pasta, risotto, and pizza.

For lunch, there are also Signature Set and Family Set options. The sets include soup, a main dish, and a drink, so if there are too many menu choices and you can’t decide, a set menu could be a good option!

You can look through the menu and order straight from the kiosk, but I liked that they also provided a separate menu book that was easy to scan at a glance.

Arugula bulgogi pizza and cuttlefish aglio

After taking our time with the menu, we ordered the Arugula & Manzo Bulgogi Pizza and Bottarga Cuttlefish Aglio!

First up, the Arugula & Manzo Bulgogi Pizza is an unusual bulgogi pizza topped with manzo bulgogi marinated in a Korean royal-court-style bulgogi sauce, arugula, and a richly flavored truffle shower sauce.

Maybe because it was baked in a wood-fired oven, the crust was wonderfully chewy and piled high with toppings! It was full of bulgogi, arugula, and cheese, and we kept saying how delicious it was while we ate.

The Bottarga Cuttlefish Aglio is an oil pasta with chewy cuttlefish, fresh garlic, and extra-virgin olive oil, finished with the deep savory flavor of bottarga and the fresh brightness of lemon.

I usually love oil pasta anyway, but Camel Orzo’s Bottarga Cuttlefish Aglio felt different from the familiar versions and was delicious in its own way! The chewy cuttlefish gave it great texture, and I squeezed a little of the lemon that came with it. Rather than tasting sharply sour, it added a subtle freshness, making the pasta clean and tasty! It was an oil pasta I could enjoy lightly without feeling greasy, so I personally really liked it :)

If you’re looking for an Italian restaurant with a great atmosphere in Sangmu District, I’d like to recommend Camel Orzo! The atmosphere was lovely, and every dish we ordered was delicious, so I was already thinking that I wanted to come back. From the kind service to convenient parking and tasty food, I was happy with Camel Orzo overall. It suits a date, a family meal, or a day when you want somewhere special, so I think I’ll drop by whenever an anniversary or special occasion comes up :)
