Shabu20 Gwangju Cheomdan is an all-you-can-eat shabu-shabu (hotpot-style thinly sliced meat) place I'd really recommend for family dinners or company get-togethers. There are so many shabu buffets these days, and honestly I'd never found one I was truly happy with... But...!!!! I found my shabu place of a lifetime in Cheomdan, Gwangju. ❤️
How is the parking at Shabu20 Gwangju Cheomdan?
You can use the Shinhan Bank parking tower next to the restaurant, and 2 hours of parking are free. It holds around 100 cars, so even on a weekend I could park fairly easily, and 2 hours was plenty to eat at a relaxed pace. Lots of places in Cheomdan are a pain to park at, so I was happy right from the parking 👍🏻
The atmosphere on a weekend evening
I visited on a weekend evening and the restaurant was spacious and pleasant, with nothing stuffy about it. Even with lots of customers, the food was well kept up.

How is the shabu-shabu meat quality?
It's not just about quantity here; the meat quality itself was really good. 🩵
The meat was fresh with no gamey smell at all, so it was delicious as classic shabu-shabu, and even when I simmered it in the broth for a while it didn't get dry, so I kept reaching for more.
Unlimited vegetables, mushrooms and rice paper roll ingredients
Vegetables and mushrooms are unlimited, and so are the rice paper roll (wolnam-ssam) ingredients. There's a nice variety of shabu-shabu ingredients, so you can mix and match to your taste.
The fresh vegetables were plentiful and great with the meat, and if you love rice paper rolls, you absolutely have to come here haha
What's on the salad bar?
The salad bar at Shabu20 Gwangju Cheomdan had homemade seasoned chicken gangjeong (sweet crispy fried chicken), soy garlic chicken gangjeong, fried rice and tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes), items you rarely see at a typical all-you-can-eat shabu-shabu place. The other dishes were better than I expected too.
There were several kinds of salad too, so I never got tired of the food. The rice cakes in particular were so soft and chewy that I went back for them several times.
The sauces for rice paper rolls and shabu-shabu were so varied that choosing was almost stressful.
Shabu-shabu and rice paper rolls with two broths
At Shabu20 Gwangju Cheomdan you can pick two broths. I put my favorite vegetables into the two I chose, and it was tasty, easy and nice.
I also wrapped rice paper rolls with all the toppings I wanted and got full pretty fast.
Is the draft beer at Shabu20 Gwangju Cheomdan unlimited too?
Yes, you can drink cold draft beer without limit at no extra cost. The unlimited beer was quite satisfying, and I thought it would be great for company dinners or group gatherings. A cold glass of draft beer alongside the meat made it even better.
Dessert: coffee, drinks and takeout ice cream
After the meal there's coffee, drinks and ice cream, and the ice cream can be taken out. The dessert was excellent too, so I enjoyed the whole meal right to the end. Being able to cover everything from the meal to dessert in one place was a big plus.
How was Shabu20 Gwangju Cheomdan for family dinners and group meals?
The restaurant is big enough that it looked well suited not only to family dinners but also to company dinners, get-togethers with friends and group gatherings. The staff were friendly, and dishes that ran low were refilled quickly, so the place felt well managed overall.
The meat quality, the varied salad bar, unlimited draft beer, ice cream for dessert and the big parking lot all left me satisfied. If you're looking for a good-value all-you-can-eat shabu-shabu spot in Cheomdan, Shabu20 Gwangju Cheomdan is a place that makes you swear you'll come back,,,!!! The combo of the meat quality and unlimited draft beer was truly beyond my expectations, and I'd recommend it for a weekend meal out. haha
