Pasta restaurant in Gwangju Suwan: shrimp anchovy oil pasta, Bueokgan

My husband and I had our checkups in the morning, so we got a cozy weekday lunch date~ Total jackpot >_<! Right? He said, "Let's go eat something good!" and that's how we ended up at Bueokgan (부엌간) Suwan Branch, a pasta favorite in the Suwan district!

Bueokgan Suwan Branch hours and parking

Bueokgan Suwan Branch is open every day from 11:30 to 21:00. Open daily, so you can have great pasta whenever you like haha. It's in the Suwan district of Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju, as a Suwan pasta favorite should be haha.

There's no dedicated parking lot, but

you can park on the street right in front of the restaurant!

The Bueokgan vibe at this Suwan pasta spot is so good~ 👍 On nice days eating outside would be lovely haha. It's getting cooler now, so totally doable^^~ But we ate inside, of course lol.

Couple Set B and the menu at Bueokgan Suwan Branch

Couple Set B at Bueokgan Suwan Branch is ₩51,000 and includes a salad, a pasta, a pizza and two drinks. The second we saw the menu, we thought, we're a couple, so couple set it is.

The garden salad was part of the set when we ordered, but it wasn't listed separately on the menu! And as a Suwan pasta favorite should,

it has loads of pasta~ seafood tomato pasta, carbonara, shrimp anchovy oil pasta, shrimp rosé pasta, basil pesto cream pasta and vongole (clam) pasta, plus kung pao chicken pilaf, abalone cream risotto and lasagna, so pilaf, risotto and lasagna too lol.

Shrimp anchovy oil pasta was the best-selling menu item, so we went for it, and it was an excellent choice. So delicious 👍 We'll try other pastas next time!

Garden salad: a starter with a kick of sauce

The garden salad was a great starter. The sauce it was tossed in was the kicker! A nice light way to start haha.

The grapefruit in the grapefruit ade is seriously the highlight lol. Look at the thickness! My husband held up his own hand next to it as a scale bar lol.

It had plenty of oil, so it was wonderfully smooth, and the seasoning was just right haha. A real Suwan and Sangmu district favorite!

How was the basil margherita pizza?

Basil is everything. The basil margherita pizza is piled with basil.

So the basil aroma is everywhere!!!! Absolutely heavenly.

Ta-da! Such a generous spread lol. Even on video it looks generous lol.

A trio of tastiness… The shrimp anchovy oil pasta had so much oil that it mixed up smoothly! This is exactly it haha. It was our number-one pick!

The pizza is a not-too-heavy thin crust, loaded with cheese and basil haha. We enjoyed it so much that

we cleaned our plates^^ lol. That's the proper way to treat a great restaurant, right? hehe.

Honestly, this Suwan pasta favorite, Bueokgan Suwan Branch, has tasty pasta, tasty salad and tasty pizza~~~!!!
