Hoyang Horim is a roastery hanok café that has held its ground in Yangnim-dong, Gwangju. Catching up with old friends there, the group shared a black sesame latte, iced Americano, gaeseongjuak (fried glutinous rice cake), blueberry cheesecake, fig-and-dried-persimmon sando, and injeolmi waffles, with the rich blueberry cheesecake and chewy injeolmi waffle standing out most. The mood and desserts feel completely different from Gwangju's newer cafés.
