Chicken thigh skewers & sundubu jjigae at Jumak Inho, Gwangju
Jumak Inho is a solo-chef traditional liquor bar on Geumnam-ro in Dong-gu, Gwangju. Visiting on a Saturday afternoon with a friend, the writer paired makgeolli and traditional liquors with cold pork jowl (naengjeyuk), grilled chicken thigh (dakmokssal-gui), and sundubu jjigae (soft tofu stew), even the fried nurungji side dish arriving warm and satisfying. It's a good pick for anyone who wants well-made anju (drinking snacks) and proper Korean liquor in a quiet setting rather than a crowded bar.
