Myeongji, Busan izakaya: ankimo pâté and grilled chicken neck, Genji
Izakaya Genji is a six-table izakaya tucked into an alley in Myeongji International City, Gangseo-gu, Busan. On a Saturday evening the order at Genji was grilled cuttlefish, grilled chicken neck and tenderloin katsu with draft beer and a lemon sour, plus a first try of ankimo (monkfish liver) pâté that turned out as creamy as butter and easy even for beginners. Every dish at Genji showed real care in how it was cooked and sauced.
