MUG is a large bakery café built from charred wood at 90 Hyangsandagae-ro in Sangbuk-myeon, Ulju-gun, Ulsan, near Eonyang. Arriving early with my mom, we ordered an iced americano, a MUG lemonade, a white roll and a blueberry cream cheese cinnamon roll, then watched the rain from a window seat. With outlet seats, a dog-friendly outdoor yard and a small gallery by the entrance, MUG is an easy recommendation for bread in Eonyang.
Boksan Haejang is a lunch-only Korean restaurant in Songjeong-dong, Buk-gu, Ulsan, about 10 minutes by car from Ulsan Airport. Arriving near the end of lunch service meant no wait at Boksan Haejang for boksan haejangguk, a clean Gyeongsang-style Korean beef gukbap (beef and rice soup), and a generous yukhoe bibimbap (raw beef rice bowl). The 11:00–14:30 lunch-only hours are the one downside, but for a filling meal in Songjeong-dong, Boksan Haejang is worth the stop.
