Where is Manokamana Songdo Branch?

Manokamana Songdo Branch is an Indian curry restaurant right in front of Songdo Central Park. On a nice day, I think it would be lovely to have a good curry and then stroll around the park :)

Sometimes I just crave an exotic restaurant like this! My husband had taken the day off, so we sent our child to daycare and went out for Indian curry, just the two of us.

The name is so hard to remember,, haha. Apparently Manokamana means 'hope' in Nepali. They say an Indian chef cooks everything himself, so you can taste authentic flavors from India.

Manokamana Songdo Branch atmosphere: good for a date?

It was so pretty the moment we walked in! The interior is gorgeous, so it's a great restaurant for a date *. *

I also love that there's a sink at the entrance! You eat naan with your hands, so of course you want them clean. That said, I just wiped mine roughly with a wet tissue and dug in,, haha.

The place is pretty big and the interior feels classy and stylish, doesn't it~?! The ceilings are high and the view is nicely green too. If I had dressed up a bit I would have taken lots of photos of myself, what a pity,, haha. Maybe I'll dress up next time.

The interior is elegant yet exotic, the music is Indian, and all the staff are Indian, so it felt like being there. I loved it!

We went a little after lunchtime, and by the time we were almost done eating, all the other guests had left, so I quickly snapped these.

• Curry: chicken tikka masala (spice level 1)
• Naan: changed to butter naan (+₩500)
• Rice: plain rice
• Lassi: one changed to strawberry (₩1,000)

I made these changes, so a little extra got added to the bill.

Why chicken tikka masala instead of butter chicken?

I once had butter chicken curry at Triple Street's second branch, and the lassi was yogurty and the tandoori chicken isn't spicy either, so it got a bit heavy as I ate. So this time I picked chicken tikka masala, which has a spicy kick.

I wondered about chicken masala at spice level 2, but I bet that would have been too hot, haha. I'm glad I went with level 1!

The tableware at Manokamana Songdo Branch is classy and pretty. The staff even pour your water for you! Three basic sides come out: pickles, onion and jalapeño.

The salad was fresh and tasty too! I ate about half at the start and the other half alongside the meal, and it really cleanses your palate!!

The lassi! Personally I think plain is better than strawberry to drink with a meal, haha. Lassi is a yogurt-based drink, so it seems to go better with spicy curry.

How do the butter naan and level 1 chicken tikka masala taste?

The mains came out: tandoori chicken, curry, rice and naan! What a lineup!! The interior is great too, so I recommend it as a date spot!

The butter naan is so good!! It's tasty even without dipping it in curry. It comes as three big pieces, and it isn't overly buttery, just right. It went really well with the spicy curry ♥

I thought level 1 chicken tikka masala wouldn't be very spicy, but it was quite spicy after all, and I was glad I hadn't picked level 2. Mixed with rice, the spiciness makes the rice go down so easily, haha. The portion of rice is generous enough that two adults won't run short!

Is the tandoori chicken at Manokamana spicy?

The tandoori chicken at Manokamana Songdo Branch was yummy yum yum too! It looks spicy but isn't, haha. It was very tender, and even better dipped in the sauce!

Is the set for two enough for two adults?

Look how well we ate. Cleaned out!! haha. For the record, the set for two at Manokamana Songdo Branch was never too little for two adults. We were really hungry that day, and it was our first Indian curry in a while and tastier than I expected, so we scraped every last bit,, haha.

Personally, when ordering this set, I recommend a curry with a spicy kick rather than a butter curry. It's close to Central Park, so it's also good for a Songdo outing or date, and a nice place to visit on days you crave exotic food.
