I tried Sorori Sotbap a long time ago at their Seongan-gil branch downtown. It was a very cozy little place back then, and it seems they've since moved. Since there's a branch in Gagyeong-dong too, I paid a visit after a long while.

Parking at Sorori Sotbap near Gagyeong-dong Ipark
Sorori Sotbap Gagyeong Direct Branch has a really wide parking lot, so parking is super easy. Honestly, it's so convenient it's almost unreal. With that much space there are plenty of spots, so if you're looking for a good restaurant near Gagyeong-dong Ipark, I really recommend Sorori Sotbap for the easy parking alone.

What's on the Sorori Sotbap menu
From the signature beef rib pot rice to a summer health-boost ginseng chicken pot rice, all the way to a salmon buckwheat gimbap loaded with raw salmon — if you come starving after work, you'll want to order everything.

The moment I walked in, the space felt really spacious and the interior was surprisingly upscale for a pot rice restaurant.
Ooh, there were so many kinds of pot rice that I browsed the menu carefully. First, since it's the signature dish, I went with the beef rib pot rice~
We were only planning to order two pot rice dishes between the two of us, but the buckwheat gimbap (buckwheat seaweed rice roll) had me curious, so we added that too!

Buckwheat gimbap: the dish worth a solo visit
The buckwheat gimbap was the first thing to arrive at Sorori Sotbap. I'd seen people who come in alone and order only this, and now I get why. It's clean, light, delicious, and especially perfect for this kind of weather.

Mackerel pot rice and beef rib pot rice, the full table
Next came the mackerel pot rice. I really love that this restaurant uses individually wrapped, hygienic utensil sets.

A neat, well-arranged table. The mackerel pot rice was so generously topped that you could barely see the rice underneath — a really substantial bowl.
And then the beef rib pot rice. Even the smell had this sweet, rich aroma wafting up.
There were even jujubes in it to give the feeling of eating a whole pot of beef ribs — the beef rib pot rice was just as generous and just as good-looking.

Curious about both the beef rib and the mackerel, we decided to split them and share, haha.
First they scoop the rice out of the pot, then pour hot water from a cute little kettle into it.

Side dishes, the self-serve bar and dining with kids
Sorori Sotbap serves four side dishes, and every single one goes really well with the pot rice. They were so good we each cleaned our own plate.

There's also a self-serve bar, so you can grab more side dishes easily. I noticed separate baby spoons, forks and cups too — families with young kids visiting this restaurant near Gagyeong-dong Ipark should find it even easier.

Mixing butter into the beef rib pot rice
Even the bowls are pretty. The rice scooped out of the pot gets mixed with the butter that comes alongside it. Personally, mixing butter into the beef rib pot rice brought out a deeper, richer, nuttier flavor — totally my thing.

Looking at these photos again makes me want to eat it all over. There's a generous amount of tender meat, so this restaurant near Gagyeong-dong Ipark works well for kids and adults alike, but it'd also be a good spot for a clean, proper meal with your parents.

Clam-packed seaweed soup and the pickled ginger pairing
Sorori Sotbap's seaweed soup has cockle meat in it — and not just one or two pieces for show. That small soup bowl is loaded generously with a huge amount of cockles, almost matching the seaweed in ratio! As someone who loves cockles, I was thrilled — yesss.
They suggested topping the buckwheat gimbap with pickled ginger. I never eat pickled ginger even at sushi restaurants, but since they recommended it, I gave it a try. Conclusion: buckwheat gimbap absolutely must be eaten with pickled ginger. The combination is amazing — the best.

The mackerel pot rice also comes with pickled ginger, and somehow it works perfectly there too. So delicious — did I secretly always like pickled ginger? I chewed carefully worried about bones, but I never once bit into one the whole time, so I got to fully enjoy the boneless mackerel.

The beef rib pot rice also paired really well with salted squid, and picking away at the other side dishes alongside it created just the right harmony with the pot rice.

Scorched rice to finish, plus 2 hours of parking
To finish, there was even savory scorched rice (nurungji). It was a perfect ending to a meal I really, truly enjoyed at this restaurant near Gagyeong-dong Ipark.

With up to 2 hours of parking support, it was easy to eat without feeling rushed. From the parking to the atmosphere to the food, everything about this Gagyeong-dong Ipark restaurant was genuinely great. Highly recommend Sorori Sotbap!
