Lashkimi (래쉬키미) is at 112 B1, LG Palace Building, 156 Yanghwa-ro, Mapo-gu, Seoul, South Korea, and is open every day from 11:00 to 22:00. Bookings are taken through Naver Booking.

I visited Lashkimi, a lash perm and extension salon on the B1 floor of the LG Palace building connected to Exit 9 of Hongik Univ. Station. It's in the basement of the KFC building, so it links straight to the subway and is easy to find. I got there quickly after getting off at the station.

Why I got a lash lift again this summer

Today I booked a tinted lash lift (one of the hydro lash lift options) through Naver Booking. I think it had been about a year since my last lash perm. With summer, my makeup keeps getting lighter, and even when I use an eyelash curler the heat makes my lashes droop, so I decided it was time to get a lash lift again after a long while.

Can you really book Lashkimi in Hongdae on the same day?

Lashkimi takes same-day bookings. I booked in a hurry before leaving on my summer vacation and still got in right away. When I arrived at my booked time, the seat was already set up so the treatment could start immediately.

Lashkimi shares its space with a nail salon, so it's a total beauty shop where you can get nails, pedicures, lash lifts and lash extensions all in one place. What I liked most was that same-day booking was possible, and that the hydro lift takes only a short 30 minutes.

There is one treatment bed in the shop, and the bedding was so soft and fluffy that, to cut to the chase, I fell asleep and the lash lift was done by the time I woke up 🤣 Thanks to the gentle owner and her delicate hands, I could rest completely while getting my Hongdae lash lift.

C-curl or J-curl: which should you choose?

At Lashkimi I was recommended a one-on-one custom design in a consultation before the treatment. I have hidden double eyelids, so my lashes are fairly long but get buried in my eyelids, which bothers me. I wondered which curl to pick and went with the C-curl, which gives a rounded shape.

I was told that for people with short lashes, a C-curl has no curve (?) for the curl to form, so a J-curl, which lifts sharply from the base, is generally recommended.

She also explained carefully that a C-curl can look like it's drooping, as if crying, when it loosens, so you can decide based on whether you want it to look pretty right away or last longer and loosen naturally.

How does the tinted hydro lash lift at Lashkimi go?

I was told Lashkimi's basic hydro lift uses a keratin perm solution and products that protect the lashes to minimize irritation. I went with the tinted lift, which gives defined eyes as if you're wearing mascara even after washing your face.

After about 40 minutes of treatment, here are my beautifully defined lashes!!

Aftercare for a tinted lash lift

Because black tint was applied, I was advised to wait 3 hours after the treatment before washing my face, and told that using an essence-type lash serum will help the lift last longer.
