We went to the Han River this time, and on the way back we stopped by Mangridan-gil in Mangwon for a date. We really love tacos, so we looked for a taco place and ended up at Taco Dot, a famous Mangwon spot that even has waits sometimes~
Where is Taco Dot, and is it good for a Mangridan-gil date?
A quiet alley, a colorful, exotic vibe: Taco Dot, a Mangwon favorite

Taco Dot is about a 5-minute walk from Mangwon Station, right in the middle of Mangridan-gil, so it was super easy to get to. The fun thing about Mangwon is that the market, trendy cafés and great restaurants all sit side by side, which makes it perfect for dates, and I wanted to recommend it.

Taco Dot's atmosphere and seating
Inside, Taco Dot is mostly tables for 2 and 4. The moment you walk in, the hip, colorful atmosphere really makes an impression.

There are seats with a slightly different feel like this, and also window seats where you can see the alley outside, haha.

Taco Dot menu, prices and what we ordered
At Taco Dot you order through a Naver POS, with a little dessert included.

The menu has all sorts of Mexican food: the signature fajita platter, tacos, chimichangas, enchiladas, fried dishes and more, so it was really hard to decide, haha. We had already eaten a ton of food on our date that day, so instead of a huge platter, we ordered the things we most wanted to try~
- Fish taco ₩12,000
- Pulled pork taco ₩11,000
- Okinawa taco rice ₩15,000
- Buffalo wings, 4 pieces ₩4,000
- Jarritos (pineapple) ₩5,500
- Zero Coke ₩2,500

They have a nice range of drinks, so something cold would be great, and that Jarritos is really good, so be sure to try it!
Taco Dot fish tacos and a tip for adding cilantro
Food full of Mexican flavor

The food came out quickly, and the generously topped tacos and the Okinawa taco rice looked so appetizing.

Taco Dot's fish taco is freshly fried fish piled with salsa and coleslaw. The fish was piping hot, soft and mild, and with the sauce and coleslaw the flavor in your mouth was really rich and good~ There was no cilantro, which was a little disappointing, but when I asked on the way out, they said they give you cilantro if you ask separately...! If you like cilantro, I definitely recommend asking for extra, haha.

What does Taco Dot's pulled pork taco taste like?
Taco Dot's pulled pork taco is a hearty taco piled with deeply savory meat and cheese. And I tried the pulled pork taco too..! Oh, the rich umami and meaty aroma of the pulled pork were really appealing~ Fitting the heavy flavor, it's loaded with cheese, and with each bite the pulled pork seems to say "I'm delicious!", which I really liked. There's so much meat that you get a good mouthful of it, and the texture was great too.

The seasoning is strong, and the umami that comes with it is really good, so I definitely recommend trying the pulled pork taco, haha.

Taco Dot's Okinawa taco rice: a filling rice dish
Taco Dot's Okinawa taco rice is a ₩15,000 rice dish with taco toppings, grilled chicken and cheese over rice. It was my first time trying it, and my partner (Kkumi) said it was good, so I gave it a go!! I'm not sure exactly which part is Okinawa-style, but with all the taco toppings and grilled chicken, it was filling and generous~
Inside there was plenty of rice, chicken and even cheese.

With the first bite, maybe because tomato salsa and cabbage sit on top, you get a crunchy, fresh feel first, and then the chicken seasoned with pepper and salt, the nutty cheese and the carbs all come together, and that was really delicious too~ It's less intense than the pulled pork, but it's a great pick for enjoying taco rice without feeling weighed down.

Taco Dot buffalo wings: worth ordering as a side?
Taco Dot's buffalo wings are 4 pieces for ₩4,000, which makes them a great-value side. We clinked our drinks over them~~ and really enjoyed them. The wings have a nice salty flavor, so I recommend them as a side~

Honest verdict on Taco Dot and whether I'd return
An honest review and whether I'd go back
On our Mangridan-gil date, I loved the colorful, Mexican-flavored atmosphere of Taco Dot in Mangwon, and overall the food tasted good and the portions were generous, so it felt like great value. It looks perfect for a quick taco and a beer, and also for coming to fill up properly, so Taco Dot is a Mangwon restaurant I'm happy to recommend!
