13 minutes by car from Amethyst Cave to MUG
After visiting Amethyst Cave, probably the most famous spot in Ulsan, I wanted a cool cup of coffee, so I went looking for a large café in Ulsan and found MUG. It's an Eonyang bakery café in Ulsan, and it's about a 13-minute drive from the cave.
The parking lot is huge and the place itself is large, but it still draws a lot of people. It was a weekday, but maybe because it's vacation season, I was a little surprised at how busy it was — truly living up to being a large Ulsan café. This place is known for its cinnamon rolls, so I'd recommend trying one for sure.

On a nice day, a leisurely coffee at a café — and as someone who has to have bread with it too, I ended up looking for an Eonyang bakery café in Ulsan.

Parking lot, entrance, gallery, and a photo printer
MUG's parking lot is unpaved but so spacious there's nothing to worry about. It was cloudy then clear that day — after parking, I strolled leisurely into MUG.
The outdoor area looked lovely, but it was too hot to stay out there. Straight inside we go — right by the entrance there are gallery pieces on the walls, so it's a bit of a gallery café in Ulsan, and there's even a smartphone photo printer that seems worth using.

Weekday 1pm, the mood at the floor-to-ceiling window seats
Wow, so many people, haha. Just after 1pm must be the perfect time to hit a café. The inside was quite spacious, but I could see it was packed with customers.
The floor-to-ceiling windows make the window seats even more atmospheric.

There are plenty of tables further inside too, all facing toward the window seats, so any seat looks good. MUG was crowded inside, but there were still seats available, so I grabbed a table and headed to the counter to order.

MUG's drink menu and prices
I could tell the drinks were delicious just from the photos — avocado smoothie, plum smoothie, pear smoothie, all sorts of unusual options.
- Coffee — Americano ₩5,500, Café Latte ₩6,000, Vanilla Latte ₩6,500, Caramel Macchiato ₩6,800, Cold Brew ₩6,500
- Smoothies — MUG Lemon Smoothie ₩7,500, Strawberry Yogurt Smoothie ₩7,000, Blueberry Yogurt Smoothie ₩7,000

The 1pm bakery display, what was left
Even past 1pm, so much bread had already sold — must have had a big morning rush. Quite a few spots were empty, but there were still plenty of varieties, so I picked out what I wanted to try at this Eonyang bakery café in Ulsan.

Probably the most popular with kids is the salt bread.

Of the three cinnamon roll flavors, I ordered blueberry.

Bagel, black sesame chestnut red bean bread

Ciabatta, cheese mochi

Sweet pea red bean bread, cake

White roll, injeolmi (sweet rice cake) roll

White roll, blueberry cinnamon roll, and an americano
Among the many kinds of bread, I picked two. The white roll, which really caught my eye visually, and the blueberry cinnamon roll! For coffee, I went with an americano, which pairs well with sweet bread.

Since this place is known for cinnamon rolls, I figured I had to try one, and picked blueberry. The apple flavor seemed the most popular and was sold out, which was a bit disappointing, ㅠㅠ.

The cinnamon scent came through strongly between the layers of bread, making for a distinctive, appealing flavor. The cream cheese and blueberry pair really well, and it's the perfect bread to eat with coffee.
The combination of cream, blueberry, and cinnamon scent is the best. If you visit MUG, I recommend trying this bread for sure.

The high ceilings and open view are lovely. Once you order the bread, you can microwave it however you like.

Pumpkins hanging outside on the way out
On the way out, pumpkins were hanging thick outside, so I looked around, but it was too hot to stand still for even a moment, so I hopped straight into the car, haha. There seemed to be small watermelons hanging too — fun for kids to see^^

MUG as a stop on the Amethyst Cave route — how was it?

When traveling, large cafés are always the best — plenty of bread and roomy seating^^. Had a great time at MUG, a good café for an Eonyang date.
