Gyeongju 6:30pm walnut pastries, purple bojagi 24-box: Buja Hodu
Buja Hodu is a walnut pastry (hodu-gwaja) shop on Hwangnidan-gil in Gyeongju, Gyeongbuk, where each rice-dough pastry holds one whole walnut. Arriving at 6:30pm on a weekday, every other flavor was sold out, so the writer took a 24-piece box of the original low-sugar red bean and paid 3,000 won extra for purple bojagi (wrapping cloth) gift wrap. Her parents liked the whole-walnut bite and the less-sweet filling, making Buja Hodu a satisfying holiday gift from a Gyeongju trip.
