I had errands near Yangjae Station and wanted an easy meal, so I stopped by Yangjaeok (양재옥), a Korean restaurant that's great for Korean food! They have everything from clear pork gomtang (pork bone soup) to juansang (a Korean drinking table spread), so there's lots to choose from! Eating alone is totally doable, and it's good for groups too!
Who is Yangjaeok good for?
Yangjaeok suits people who love pork gomtang, people who want to enjoy a juansang, and people looking for a place to eat alone near Yangjae Station. The writer said there was nothing they were disappointed by.
- People who love pork gomtang
- People who want to eat late
- People who want to enjoy a juansang
- People who want to eat solo
What comes with the juansang at Yangjaeok?

The Yangjaeok juansang puts zucchini jeon (pan-fried battered zucchini), bossam (boiled pork wraps), jeyuk (spicy stir-fried pork) and tofu kimchi all on one table. This is the juansang you can order after 5pm! The portions are generous and there's lots of variety, so the value is amazing!!

Juansang bossam: thick-cut and no gamey smell
The bossam in the Yangjaeok juansang was thick-cut, with just the right ratio of fat to lean meat. It goes so well with the kimchi served alongside! You can wrap it in leaves or eat it with salted shrimp, and there was no gamey smell at all, so a big pass from me haha

Juansang jeyuk bokkeum: not spicy, loaded with onion
This one is the jeyuk bokkeum (stir-fried spicy pork)! It comes out freshly stir-fried, so it can't be bad haha It had lots of onion, so the sweet onion flavor blended nicely with the jeyuk sauce, and it wasn't spicy, so it was easy to eat.

Juansang tofu kimchi: warm tofu with stir-fried aged kimchi
And this is the tofu kimchi~ Mild tofu paired with stir-fried sour kimchi! This is a combo no Korean dislikes, right? The tofu was warm and went down so easily!

You can eat the tofu with the stir-fried kimchi, but with jeyuk it's a perfect match too! Tofu and jeyuk are protein, so they won't make me gain weight..... hahaha

Juansang zucchini jeon: great even wrapped around jeyuk
Light zucchini jeon that you can tear apart bit by bit! This kind of dish keeps your hand coming back haha It's even good wrapped around jeyuk! hahaha The lineup is so solid that I was very satisfied! I loved the variety of side dishes haha
Is Yangjaeok's clear pork gomtang good for eating alone?

The strength of Yangjaeok's clear pork gomtang was its clean, clear broth with no gamey smell. It comes with white rice already mixed in, and it was packed with meat. Some people even come alone just to eat the pork gomtang and leave! It's definitely a perfect solo meal haha

Chopped Cheongyang chili makes the clear broth spicy
Yangjaeok's pork gomtang is mild and tasty as it is, but if you add the chopped Cheongyang chili (spicy green chili) on every table, the broth stays clear while getting a spicy kick, which I loved! The broth was so clean that I enjoyed it a lot!
Yangjaeok menu and juansang order times

The menu starts with the juansang, to which you can add more dishes, and there's also pork gomtang, sundae gukbap (blood sausage soup with rice), noodle dishes and a bossam set. A perfect lineup for Korean food at Yangjae Station~

The juansang can be ordered from 5pm on weekdays and from 2pm on weekends and public holidays, so keep that in mind when you visit!
Is the inside of Yangjaeok fine for solo meals and group dinners?

Inside Yangjaeok there were lots of tables, and the mood was kind of good for a group dinner. You can sit in a corner and eat solo, or come with a crowd for a company dinner, so it's a great Yangjae Station spot. The owner and staff were all kind too! They keep bringing more side dishes when you run out!

Verdict: juansang and pork gomtang are the picks at Yangjaeok
The pork gomtang was clean and the juansang was great value, so I was satisfied with Yangjaeok, a Yangjae Station spot that does Korean food well! If you're near Yangjae Station and need a meal, I recommend dropping by once. The juansang and pork gomtang are especially recommended!! The gomtang also comes in a spicy version, so order to your taste!
