Hapjeong roastery café selling drip bags for the office: Central Site
In short
Central Site Hapjeong is a roastery café in Mapo, Seoul, within a 5-minute walk of Hapjeong Station Exit 2. A longtime regular at the Yeonnam branch visited with a friend and ordered an Ethiopia drip coffee and a classic tiramisu; the Ethiopia drip was so aromatic that even someone who usually dislikes acidic coffee enjoyed it. Central Site Hapjeong also sells beans and drip bags, so it's worth a stop for great hand-drip coffee and drip bags to take back to work.

Central Site Hapjeong: location and hours
Central Site Hapjeong (센트럴사이트 합정점) is at 20 Yanghwa-ro 7-gil, Mapo-gu, Seoul, on the 1st floor, close to Exit 2 of Hapjeong Station on Line 2. It is open every day from 08:00 to 22:00.
There is a coupon discount on Naver right now, so make use of it.
Central Site is one of my regular cafés in Yeonnam, and when I heard a new branch had opened right by Hapjeong Station, I went with a friend. Once again, I was happy with it. The Hapjeong branch has a different charm from the Yeonnam one, but the taste is the same, so just go to whichever is closer to you!

Five minutes from Hapjeong Station: indoors and outdoors
Central Site Hapjeong is less than a 5-minute walk from Hapjeong Station. It was already full, but a table opened up the moment we walked in, so we were lucky enough to sit down.

The outdoor area is pretty and has a nice mood too, but it was so hot that I just wanted to get into the cool indoors. Lots of people were taking photos out front! I think it's a atmospheric café with a lovely view and lovely looks to match.

My friend and I both love coffee, and we got excited the second we walked in and smelled the roasted beans. I already knew it would be good, so I was even more excited. This Hapjeong Station café, Central Site, gets my recommendation.

As evening got closer the crowd thinned out, so I took these shots of the interior. The big windows let in lovely sunlight, and it was a really nice Hapjeong café atmosphere!

Beans and drip bags for sale
Central Site Hapjeong also sells beans and drip bags, so if you love coffee, it's worth buying some to try at home. This time I bought drip bags, and I'm drinking them at work.
The menu and choosing your beans

At Central Site each bean has its own price, and most of them lean acidic. If you like a roasty or nutty taste, I recommend the Guatemala. The Colombia Cauca Paraiso 92 Geisha is my number one pick. This time I wanted something a bit simpler, so I ordered the Ethiopia. And of course I ordered the tiramisu too, since this place is a real dessert spot.

Every time I think about trying a different tiramisu, I end up getting the classic one. Next time I'm definitely trying the brownie tiramisu.

Coffee brewed to order, so expect a wait
Because the staff brew each cup by hand, it takes longer than at other places, but the aroma is worth it. If you relax and enjoy the coffee smell, they'll bring it over before you know it.
It's busy, but the staff are so skilled with their hands that they make it quickly. At the Yeonnam branch you could even smell the beans before choosing, and I don't know whether Hapjeong offers that too!
Ethiopia drip and classic tiramisu together

Coffee made with Yirgacheffe and Ethiopian beans, paired with a classic tiramisu, is so healing. I only ever drink cheap coffee at work, so I wanted some really good coffee and I'll have to go back soon.

The tiramisu is fairly large, so it's plenty for two, and it's neither heavy nor too sweet, which was just right. My friend loved it with every bite, and I felt so proud for bringing her. One caveat: since the coffee is hand-brewed, it felt high in caffeine, so if you don't handle coffee well, sip it slowly..!

I don't like acidic coffee, but Central Site at Hapjeong Station is one of the places where I learned that acidic coffee can be delicious when it's really good coffee. If you like coffee, this is a Hapjeong café you should definitely visit. It's great for dates and for meetups too.

A tiramisu I want to eat again. Once the heat cools down a bit, I'll get it to go and give it as a gift.

It isn't dense or soggy but soft, and the dark chocolate on top seems to bring out the coffee aroma even more. The combination is so good!

If you're looking for great dessert and coffee near Hapjeong Station, Central Site Hapjeong is a definite go. I even bumped into a friend from my neighborhood there, so I don't know how much more famous it will get, but I plan to go back soon too!
