While traveling, I stopped at Seorak Makguksu Chuncheon Dakgalbi Yeoju IC Branch (설악막국수 춘천닭갈비 여주IC점) to eat with my children. We ordered both marinated and soy sauce dakgalbi, and I liked the marinated dakgalbi enough to order another portion.

How were the space and parking for a meal with children?

The restaurant was more spacious and tidier than I expected. The parking lot was also large, and the generous space between tables made it comfortable to eat with children. I also noticed many golfers’ autographs inside.

How much are the dakgalbi and side dishes?

The menu and prices listed in the original post are below.

Why did I order more marinated dakgalbi?

At first, we ordered both marinated and soy sauce dakgalbi. Since I was eating with children, I worried that the marinade might be spicy, but the owner said it was not very spicy. To me, it had a savory depth rather than tasting simply hot or overpowering.

As it grilled over charcoal, the marinade adhered well to the chicken. The lightly charred parts had a smoky aroma, while the meat inside was moist and tender.

It did not have any unpleasant chicken smell, and I also liked the chicken’s tender texture. After finishing our first order, I added another portion of marinated dakgalbi. Of the two, the marinated one suited my taste better.

Did the children enjoy the dakgalbi too?

The children ate the dakgalbi well too. Whether children will eat well is important when choosing a restaurant during a trip, and this was a good meal to share.

The children liked that the dakgalbi came with rice cakes. Seeing them eat the tender chicken well made it a satisfying family meal.

What did I have with the dakgalbi?

I ate the dakgalbi on its own and also wrapped it in lettuce ssam (leaf wraps). The charcoal-smoked dakgalbi went well with the wrap vegetables.

I put a piece of marinated dakgalbi on the makguksu (buckwheat noodles) and ate them together. The cool noodles and charcoal aroma made for a different flavor from eating the dakgalbi alone.

Later, I asked for extra sauce separately, added it to the makguksu, and mixed it in. Of the dishes we ordered with the dakgalbi, the makguksu pairing stayed with me.

We also ordered buckwheat pancakes. The browned pancakes went well as something to eat between bites of dakgalbi.

With marinated dakgalbi, makguksu, and buckwheat pancakes, the whole family had a satisfying meal. If I pass through Yeoju again, I would like to stop by for the marinated dakgalbi.
