Yeoju grilled chicken for kids: Seorak Makguksu Chuncheon Dakgalbi
In short
Seorak Makguksu Chuncheon Dakgalbi Yeoju IC Branch is a charcoal-grilled chicken restaurant in Yeoju, Gyeonggi. On a family trip to Gangwon-do, I shared three portions of soy sauce dakgalbi with my two children; the non-spicy flavor, staff grilling service, easy parking, and children’s tableware made the meal easier.

On a weekend trip to Gangwon-do with my two children, I stopped at Seorak Makguksu Chuncheon Dakgalbi Yeoju IC Branch (설악막국수 춘천닭갈비 여주IC점). While looking for a place to eat along the way, I first considered whether parking would be easy and whether there would be something we could eat with the children.

Was it easy to stop by with children by car?
When we arrived, parking was easy, and the restaurant was spacious and clean. It also worked well with our route toward Gangwon-do, so we could have a meal before continuing.

The tables were comfortably spaced, which made it easy to sit with the children.

High chairs and children’s tableware were available. We ordered on a tablet at the table, and chose three portions of soy sauce dakgalbi (stir-fried chicken) so we could all eat the same dish.

Do you need to grill the dakgalbi yourself?
After we ordered, several side dishes arrived. We could pick up more at the self-service bar, which made it easy to replenish them during the meal.

A little later, charcoal was brought out along with partially grilled dakgalbi. Since we did not need to start grilling it from the beginning, the wait felt shorter.

When we visited, a staff member grilled the meat for us. They adjusted the charcoal heat and the position of the meat, then finished it so it was ready to eat. That meant I could look after the children without getting busy grilling.

Was the soy sauce dakgalbi good for both children and adults?
The soy sauce dakgalbi was not spicy, so it was easy to cut up for the children, and they ate it well. The soy sauce seasoning was also flavorful enough for the adults.

Grilled over charcoal, it had a subtle smoky flavor. It was good on its own or with vegetables, while the adults made ssam (leaf wraps) with various accompaniments.

What I liked most was that the whole family could eat the same food without ordering separate dishes for the children.
What event and after-meal items were available during my visit?
At the time of my visit, there was an event offering memil jeonbyeong (buckwheat pancake roll) for taking part in a receipt review. It also went well with the dakgalbi. It is best to check whether the event is running when you visit.

As we left after the meal, coffee was available, and the restaurant also sold snacks that would be easy to eat in the car.

For this meal, the easy parking, spacious seating, and children’s tableware were helpful. In particular, having a staff member grill the dakgalbi reduced the burden of looking after two children, and both the children and adults enjoyed the soy sauce dakgalbi before continuing our trip.
