Namyangju pork ribs 2+1 deal: Galbi Yechan Jinjeop Branch
In short
Galbi Yechan Namyangju Jinjeop Branch is a charcoal-grilled pork ribs restaurant in Jinjeop-eup, Namyangju. The two of us ordered two portions of marinated pork ribs and received a third through the 2+1 promotion; the thick ribs, yuzu lotus root, and dongchimi naengmyeon stood out, while the large parking area and private rooms seemed useful for family gatherings.

While looking for dinner in Jinjeop, Namyangju, the two of us visited Galbi Yechan Namyangju Jinjeop Branch (갈비예찬 남양주진접점). It did not feel far from Onam Station, and the meat 2+1 promotion running at the time caught my eye. After marinated pork ribs, doenjang-jjigae (soybean paste stew), and dessert naengmyeon (cold noodles), I was fuller than expected.
Where is it, and what are the hours?
The address is 1F, 8-12 Haemilyedang 1-ro, Jinjeop-eup, Namyangju-si, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea. The original post lists daily hours as 11:00 AM to 9:30 PM, with last orders at 8:30 PM. Reservations and group visits were available, and Wi-Fi and separate restrooms for men and women were also listed.
Is there parking and private rooms for family gatherings?
The first thing I liked when we arrived was the large parking lot in front of the restaurant. Even though it was a weekday, there were so many cars that it was nearly full when we visited. Since you can park right in front of the restaurant, I thought it would be convenient for a meal with parents or a larger group.
I was told there was parking for about 50 cars and 144 seats in total. There are also private rooms for groups of 6 to 44, so it looked suitable for family gatherings or company dinners around Jinjeop and Onam.
What were the marinated pork rib prices and 2+1 promotion?
According to the menu at the time of our visit, marinated pork ribs were ₩20,000 per 250 g portion. The two of us ordered two portions and received one portion free, for three portions in total. With the extra meat added to our order, it was a generous amount for two people.
The promotion at the time gave one extra portion when two people ordered two portions, and two extra portions when four people ordered four portions. I heard that the free portions could also apply to additional orders depending on the conditions.
What came with the meal and was at the self-service bar?
The basic table setting included marinated raw crab. It seemed that kimchi was provided on request. It was introduced as domestic kimchi made with highland cabbage from Gangwon-do, and its clean, refreshing flavor went well with the sweet-savory marinated ribs.
The yuzu lotus root was the side dish I remembered most. The crisp lotus root, with yuzu's bright, sweet aroma, whetted my appetite before the meal. Picking up a piece between bites of the sweet ribs refreshed my palate.
We could get additional side dishes from the self-service bar. Along with the seasoned lettuce salad, lettuce leaves for wraps were prepared separately at the bar, so we could wrap the meat.
How were the charcoal-grilled marinated pork ribs?
Each piece of rib was fairly thick. They had evenly spaced cuts and were well coated in marinade. The branch manager kindly explained how to grill them, so I tried folding the meat in half as instructed.
Once they went over the charcoal, the sweet aroma of the ribs rose up. The surface marinade reduced slightly and turned glossy, and I could taste the charcoal aroma when eating them. I felt that grilling makes a difference to the flavor of marinated ribs.
What sides went well with the ribs?
The doenjang-jjigae was ₩3,000 at the time of our visit. I expected a small serving for the price, but it was more generous than expected. Its savory saltiness paired well with the sweet marinated ribs.
For my first bite, I had the ribs with pickled onions, which was tasty.
The house-made barley doenjang was another memorable accompaniment. Even when I spooned it directly onto the meat, it was not too salty for my taste and had a mild flavor. I also had a drink with the charcoal-scented pork ribs.
How did the dessert naengmyeon finish the meal?
According to the menu, the dessert naengmyeon was ₩7,000. It came topped with cucumber, pear, and a boiled egg, and the dongchimi (radish water kimchi) broth stood out in particular. Rather than the sharp sourness of vinegar or mustard, I first noticed the cool, clean taste of the dongchimi.
After filling up on ribs, the sweet marinade flavor lingered in my mouth, but a sip of the cold broth felt like it cleared my palate. It suited the end of this meal well.
From this meal for two, I especially remembered the thick ribs, the generous amount from the promotion, the yuzu lotus root and barley doenjang, and the dongchimi dessert naengmyeon. The staff were kind as well. Considering the restaurant's size, parking, and private-room information together, it felt like a restaurant with advantages for family meals with parents or group gatherings.
