Atmosphere and seating at Hekbap Konkuk University Main Branch

The window bar counter really stood out! The green view looked pretty decent, don't you think? It also looked comfortable for eating alone.

The restaurant is very spacious and pleasant! We came on a weekend in the late afternoon, an awkward time, but quite a few people were still there eating~~ It seemed especially popular with students!

Every table has a little mini book. I thought of a worry first, then opened it, and the answer it gave fit surprisingly well! Haha, so fun.^^ My child and I had a great time flipping through it! It would be good to try on a date too~
What's on the menu at Hekbap Konkuk University Main Branch?

The menu had a really wide range of rice bowls (donburi), simple but filling. There were also soba, ramen, udon, curry and katsu (breaded cutlet).

Instructions on how to eat each dish best are posted on the table too! I took photos of the rice bowl and ramen we chose.^^

Various sauces are on the table as well! Use them however you like.

Wet wipes and tissues were ready too, which was convenient! The cutlery comes individually wrapped, which felt hygienic and I liked that.^^
Ordering for two: tonkotsu ramen set + cube steak rice bowl, ₩30,400

At Hekbap Konkuk University Main Branch we ordered the tonkotsu ramen set with fried chicken (₩15,500) and the cube steak rice bowl (₩14,900), ₩30,400 in total. One hearty rice bowl! And since I wanted a noodle dish too, one ramen! That's how we ordered, and the two together were great. If you can't decide, I recommend ordering this way.
Cube steak rice bowl, ₩14,900: portion and taste

The cube steak rice bowl at Hekbap is ₩14,900 and comes with salad, soup and a fried rice cake dessert.

The cube steak portion was quite generous, and the various toppings blended together for a nice texture! The steak itself was tender, so it was easy to eat.

The rice has just the right amount of sauce, so scooping up rice and toppings together was perfectly tasty! Above all, I loved that the meat was tender and delicious~ The portion was right for a single meal. Rice bowls are quick and easy to eat, so I especially recommend it for lunch around Konkuk Univ.^^
Tonkotsu ramen set with fried chicken, ₩15,500: what's in it?

The tonkotsu ramen set at Hekbap is ₩15,500 and comes with 5 pieces of fried chicken. The sign at the entrance had a ramen photo that looked so tempting, didn't it? So I ordered one ramen.
You can order ramen on its own, but the set with fried chicken gives you a more generous meal!! The ramen came with no side dishes, only the fried rice cake dessert! If you want kkakdugi (cubed radish kimchi), help yourself at the self-serve bar.

It is topped with chashu (braised pork slices), half a soft-boiled egg and assorted other toppings, and the toppings were varied and satisfying, which made the texture even better!

The tonkotsu broth was not harsh in seasoning, so it was clean and easy to eat, and the noodle texture was just right, so it was really delicious~ It tasted better than I expected.^^

Eating the chashu together with the noodles is even better~ The chashu was tender too, perfect with the noodles.
How was the 5-piece fried chicken in the set?

The fried chicken in the tonkotsu ramen set was more soft and chewy than crispy! It was nicely seasoned, pleasantly salty, so it was tasty even on its own.^^

Dipping it in the sauce served alongside gives it a new flavor, which I liked!
Fried rice cake dessert and final thoughts

Hekbap serves fried rice cake (tteok) as dessert! It was sweet and chewy, perfect as a finish! After a hearty, tasty meal, ending with fried rice cake felt very satisfying!!
Simple yet filling and good value, Hekbap Konkuk University Main Branch is one I recommend as a good eat in Konkuk Univ.!!
