A place with seriously chewy rice bread! I picked up a rice chestnut loaf and a cheese bread from Munhwa Bakery (문화제빵), a bakery in Jongno 3-ga~

Where is Munhwa Bakery, and what are its hours?
Munhwa Bakery is close to Exit 7 of Jongno 3-ga Station, and it is open from 11am to 8pm. It's takeout only, so there's no space to eat inside.
- A must-stop on any Jongno bakery tour! If you go late in the afternoon, the bread you want may be sold out, and on weekends there's a wait~
- They only sell bread baked that day, so everything is fresh!
- I hear unsold bread is given to people in need, such as children who miss meals, elderly people living alone, people with disabilities living at home, and free meal centers~

Is there still bread left after 2pm?
I got to Munhwa Bakery a little after 2pm, and most of the breads were still there~ There was no wait either, so I walked right in!
The garlic bread in the photo is Munhwa Bakery's signature item! It's moist and sweet, and lots of people come for it.^^ There are more breads too, like the coffee bread (₩5,500) and the onion bagel (₩5,500)! The coffee bread with its deep coffee aroma and the onion bagel filled with soft cream are both popular items you should try!

What I chose when the rice cheese loaf was sold out
This time I chose the rice chestnut loaf (₩5,500) and the cheese bread (₩5,400). Every single bread is so pretty~ Rice loaf is my favorite thing here, so I wanted to buy both rice loaves! Sadly, the rice cheese loaf was sold out. So I picked the cheese bread instead. I love cheese too, so it's fine. Haha.

How to order at Munhwa Bakery, and how the bread is stored
The breads are already packed and waiting on one side, so you get them right after ordering. Tell the staff what you want and they bag it right away!
Another reason I love Munhwa Bakery!! The bread is stored hygienically~ It isn't just sitting out in the open; it's placed behind a screen~ At a lot of bakeries the bread is just exposed and I often worry about hygiene. Here there's no such worry, which makes it even better! Easy, fast, and hygienic! It's a place where you can buy with peace of mind.

The breads I carefully brought home♥ The moment I opened the bag, the nutty, savory smell filled the air and I couldn't wait to eat! Haha. I couldn't resist and dug in right away as a snack. Haha.

How does the rice chestnut loaf taste? (₩5,500)
Munhwa Bakery's rice chestnut loaf is soft yet wonderfully chewy, the kind of texture that makes you want to keep eating! I really love the rice loaves here. It works as a simple meal replacement, and it's just right as a snack with kids too. I'd recommend it again and again to anyone looking for rice bread~

The chestnuts are big pieces, so the chestnut texture is satisfying too! The bread is already so soft when you cut it, and you can feel how moist it is~

Chewy, springy~ can't you feel the texture even through the photo? Soft, moist and truly delicious♥

How does the cheese bread taste? (₩5,400)
If you want something a little richer, I recommend Munhwa Bakery's cheese bread too! The cheese aroma is so strong, which makes it really appealing!

There's plenty of cheese on top as a topping, and when you cut it open it's full of cheese again~~ If you like cheese, you absolutely have to try it! And the texture is wonderfully chewy too♥ Great bread plus a rich cheese aroma makes Munhwa Bakery's cheese bread even more appealing.
If you're looking for a bakery on a Jongno bakery tour, I recommend Munhwa Bakery in Jongno 3-ga!!
