The weather has been so nice lately, so our family of four went out for a delicious weekend lunch with the kids. Every weekend, “What should we eat for lunch today?” becomes such a big question, doesn’t it? While looking for a place with dishes that would win over the adults and that the kids would eat well too, we found Sonui Son Hongseong Naepo New Town Branch (손의손 홍성내포신도시점). From spicy, fire-kissed stir-fried webfoot octopus to warm beef brisket noodle soup with a deep broth, plus thick pork cutlet—the kids’ absolute favorite—we had the perfect meal. Let me share this very satisfying visit!

A spacious, pleasant dining room and easy parking
The first thing I loved upon arriving at Sonui Son Hongseong Naepo New Town Branch was the spacious, pleasant atmosphere. The restaurant was roomy, clean, and well kept throughout, so it felt easy to visit with the children. The owner and staff were also so welcoming that I felt great from the moment we walked in.
We visited for weekend lunch, so we were able to park comfortably along the street in front of the restaurant. It also looked like the building’s underground parking lot was available, so keep that in mind if you are driving! A restaurant where I did not have to worry about parking got a pass right from the start.

What our family of four ordered
There were two adults and two children in our group, and we ordered a satisfying spread to suit everyone’s tastes!
- 2 servings of stir-fried webfoot octopus
- 1 serving of pork cutlet
- 1 serving of beef brisket warm noodle soup
Eating out has become so expensive lately that feeding a family of four can feel like a lot, but this place felt very reasonably priced for the portion sizes and quality. Among Naepo restaurants, I would say it truly delivers both value and flavor.

Fire-kissed stir-fried webfoot octopus and the self-service bar
Not long after we ordered, the stir-fried webfoot octopus—the main dish—arrived. The moment it landed on the table, that gentle smoky aroma had my mouth watering!
One bite in, and the webfoot octopus was not tough at all. It was wonderfully chewy and bouncy in every bite! Best of all, you can choose the spice level to suit your taste, so even people who are not great with spicy food should be able to enjoy it without worry.

And here is a little tip! There is a neatly arranged self-service bar on one side of the restaurant. You can take as much crisp bean sprout and shredded radish as you need. Put rice in a large bowl, add the stir-fried webfoot octopus along with plenty of bean sprouts and shredded radish, then mix it all together... honestly, you will finish a bowl in no time. The smoky flavor and crisp texture worked so well together that I was eating away without even thinking. If you are looking for webfoot octopus in Naepo, definitely try mixing it like this!

Beef brisket warm noodle soup and the pork cutlet the kids loved
The beef brisket warm noodle soup we ordered to have alongside the mixed webfoot octopus rice was even better than expected!

The chewy noodles clung beautifully to the warm, deeply flavored broth, and it was so delicious. After a bite of spicy webfoot octopus, a sip of the warm beef brisket noodle broth made the combination perfect. It toned down the heat and made the meal feel more filling, so it is a dish I definitely want to order again next time.

The pork cutlet we ordered for the kids was excellent too. It was not just a thick coating of breading—the meat inside was really thick! The meat was tender, so the kids ate it so well, and the sweet-savory pork cutlet sauce suited even our sauce-picky children perfectly. They cleared it in no time.
Why I want to return for another weekend family meal

It had been a while since our whole family had come away from a weekend lunch this satisfied and full. The restaurant was spacious and clean, parking was easy, and the owner’s kind service made it an even more enjoyable mealtime.
The menu combination was so good, from spicy, smoky webfoot octopus to rich beef brisket warm noodle soup and pork cutlet that wins over the kids, that I would strongly recommend it for a family meal out with children. If you are looking for a lunch spot in Naepo, make sure to visit Sonui Son Hongseong Naepo New Town Branch! Our family plans to return again soon. 👍
