Sangam-dong has lots of office workers, so it's an easy place to drop by after work. I arrived with time to spare and it was easier to find than I expected, haha

The first thing I felt when I opened the door was how clean it is!

The interior is modern overall, the lighting is bright, and nothing felt stuffy. Customers kept coming in, yet all the staff greeted me brightly and guided me kindly, so the first impression was great haha No wonder it keeps getting recommended as a Mapo hair salon. The seats are roomy and comfortable, so nothing bothered me during the treatment.

How designer Taeyeon's dye consultation went

Taeyeon showed me the color chart one by one and checked my current hair level, how much the old dye had faded, and even the red tones. I think the consultation matters most when dyeing, and she looked at everything carefully: what level my hair is now, how far the old dye had faded, how much red had come up, and what look I wanted.

I liked that she also asked thoughtfully when the wedding shoot is, how I usually style my hair, whether I'd like a color that stays natural in daily life after the shoot, and whether I had plans after today's treatment.

After we chose the color, she first sprayed scalp protector carefully. Dye touching the scalp directly can sting or irritate, so having the protector applied beforehand was much more reassuring.

They also prepared drinks and cookies ☕🍪 and brought a cushion so I could look at my phone comfortably. There were plenty of magazines too, so the waiting time wasn't boring at all. Each of these small services was really nice.

Before the treatment, my earlier dye had faded a lot and strong red and orange tones had come up. In sunlight it looked even more yellow and red, and indoors it looked patchy, so in photos my hair color was the first thing you noticed ㅠㅠ

While the dye was on, Taeyeon came by now and then to check my hair and do color tests ??

Scalp massage at the shampoo station

After the dye, I moved to the shampoo station... and the touch was so gentle 🥹 While washing my hair she also gave a light scalp massage that felt so good I dozed off without realizing it. She kept asking if the water temperature was okay, and the careful care made it really comfortable.

Brown tone-down result: were the red tones fixed?

The brown tone-down result was the part I liked most haha My hair had faded with heavy red and orange tones, but the moment I saw the finished color I thought, this is the color I wanted!! 😭

The red tones were handled so naturally they're barely visible, and the yellowish parts were calmed down too. It doesn't feel like it just got darker; it feels like a classy brown has been applied, so my face tone looked much cleaner. Even my skin looked brighter in the mirror, so I was really satisfied.

S-curl blow-dry matched to my plans

When I mentioned I had plans after the treatment, Taeyeon said she'd do the final blow-dry to suit that schedule, and I thought that was really thoughtful 😊

I loved the final blow-dry too >_< She remembered what we'd discussed about how I usually use my curling iron and styled it naturally with a not-too-much S-curl. The dye color looked even prettier, and I was in a good mood the whole time I took photos.

The color came out even overall and the shine was much more alive. It looks especially pretty in sunlight, so I thought I was really right to do this before the wedding shoot.
