Balsan Station bakery: 5-financier box for a friend's dinner, Byway

Byway Bakers Balsan Station is a Balsan Station dessert café, a Gangseo financier favorite and famous for its salt bread. I bought a financier package there as a gift, so here's my review. Let's go!

Where is Byway Bakers Balsan Station and when is it open?

Byway Bakers Balsan Station sits between Yangcheonhyanggyo Station and Balsan Station. It turns out to be a well-known bakery in the Balsan Station area.

And here's the entrance! Byway Bakers Balsan Station is open from 9 am to 8 pm, with last order at 7:30 pm. It's closed on Wednesdays.

What's in the National Snack Project financier package?

Byway Bakers was running a "National Snack Project" with a financier package and a salt bread package. The more you buy, the bigger the discount!

Atmosphere and how to order

This is what the inside of Byway Bakers Balsan Station looks like~ The tables are spaced well apart and the place is quiet, so it looks good for working alone or for relaxing with bread and coffee.

For drinks, just order at the kiosk inside the shop!

For desserts, you pick them yourself from the display. Lay the paper wrap on a tray and use the tongs to put whatever you want on it~

Byway Bakers is famous for its wakppu salt bread, which I hear is a salt bread you eat for the fun of cracking it, hahaha. Lots of new desserts too, so it's a great Gangseo dessert spot.

I visited in the evening, so a few baguettes were already sold out T_T. There were plenty of salt bread varieties, though, which was nice!

Even butter tteok and egg tarts..! I loved the variety of desserts.

How does Byway Bakers wrap financiers as gifts?

I picked the 5-piece financier package, plus a salt bread and a mocha salt bread.

At Byway Bakers, carry bags cost extra, but the National Snack packages come with a box as standard!

The 5-piece financier set went in its own box, and the two salt breads went separately into a paper bag.

Off to my friend's with the dessert gift ..~

After stuffing ourselves with the dinner my friend made, it was financier time! Box open. I hand-picked five: pistachio, yellow cheese, fig, Oreo and salty caramel Vv

How long financiers keep

Byway Bakers financiers keep about 2–3 days at room temperature, 7 days in the fridge and 14 days in the freezer.

Salty caramel financier

I started with the salty caramel financier. Wow, that crisp yet chewy texture,,! So good, right?

Yellow cheese financier

Next, the yellow cheese financier. It has yellow cheese on top, and that sticking-out bit (?) was a crispy cookie-like thing.

The cross-section of the yellow cheese financier is bright yellow too. The cheese flavor is subtle and it was absolutely delicious.

Fig financier

I picked this fig financier because it's my taste. You can really bite into the figs, so yummy!

Pistachio financier

I tried the pistachio financier too, and it tasted like pistachio ice cream, hahahaha. Sweet, a real sugar recharge.

My friend must have liked the financiers I brought, because she messaged me the next day. I'm so proud they enjoyed them~~

Would I buy the Byway Bakers financier set again?

I'd buy it again ⭕️ Every single Byway Bakers financier is good! Buying them as a set gets you a bigger discount, which is nice. There are also lots of new items like Dubai salt bread and wakppu salt bread, so have a look!
