Gubanpo Italian Friday lunch with mentaiko pasta: Osteria Ottivo

I visited Osteria Ottivo, a brunch-style Italian restaurant famous as a top spot in Naebang and Bangbae! Osteria Ottivo has a lunch set that gives you a full course from salad to main to dessert, so I went for it, and I was so satisfied that I'm leaving a review :)

How to get to Osteria Ottivo, and where to park

By subway, Osteria Ottivo is a 5-minute walk from Exit 5 of Gubanpo Station. From Exit 3 of Gubanpo Station, cross toward the Raemian Trinewon apartment shops, then go straight along to the right toward Building 102 of Insignia Banpo!

Parking is available at Osteria Ottivo, with a paid valet fee of ₩3,000. After that, it's ₩1,000 more per hour.

Osteria Ottivo is on the ground floor of the building, and the restaurant looked quite spacious! We came by car, so valet parking made it easy.

It was a Blue Ribbon restaurant from 2019 to 2021, so my expectations went up even more!

What is the atmosphere like inside Osteria Ottivo?

The inside of Osteria Ottivo was spacious and clean! The tables are well spaced out, so it's good for dates or gatherings, and the interior is pretty with a lovely mood.

There are outdoor tables too, so brunch outside would be nice in good weather, and with plenty of café drinks and cakes, it seemed like a good place to just come for coffee 🩷

What we ordered for Friday lunch

We ordered Lunch B Set! We visited on a Friday, so the pizza of the day was pepperoni! For the pasta we chose the mentaiko oil pasta :)

What comes in the Osteria Ottivo Lunch B Set?

Osteria Ottivo's lunch set is structured like a course, salad, main, dessert, so it's good value! When we ordered the lunch set, 2 plates of garden salad came out first. It was a garden salad topped with balsamic sauce, light and nice as an appetizer.

How does the mentaiko oil pasta taste?

Osteria Ottivo's mentaiko oil pasta is an oil-based pasta with the salty flavor of mentaiko (seasoned pollock roe) added. It's packed with plump shrimp, tomatoes and garlic, so it went well with the pizza.

The plump shrimp gave it a nice texture, and the oil sauce based on salty mentaiko was delicious too!

Friday pizza of the day: pepperoni pizza

This is the pepperoni pizza prepared as Friday's pizza of the day. Ordering one pasta and one pizza for lunch was so delicious and satisfying!

Osteria Ottivo's pepperoni pizza is kept warm by a candle underneath, so it stayed hot the whole meal, and you can also ask separately for hot sauce.

Lunch set dessert: Irish brownie

Finally, the full-course set comes with dessert too! The Osteria Ottivo lunch set dessert was an Irish brownie, thick and rich, and I think it would go well with coffee too!

The restaurant is spacious and pleasant, so instead of going to a separate café after the meal, you could just stay for dessert and a cup of coffee.

The lunch set I had at Osteria Ottivo, a great Western restaurant in Bangbae, was lovely for the full-course feel, from salad to pizza, pasta and dessert. The place is spacious, pleasant and atmospheric, so it's good for gatherings and dates, and for brunch too!
