A month and a half before the wedding: a Seongsu self-photo studio for the bridal shower
With a month and a half left before the wedding, I went to a Seongsu self-photo studio with my best friends for a bridal shower and once-in-a-lifetime friendship snap shoot! Plus a bonus blue mode~~~
While planning the wedding, four-cut photos felt a bit underwhelming, and hiring a professional snap photographer felt heavy on both cost and schedule. I also thought about booking a stay and dressing up like we used to, or renting a party room, but then I found U&E Studio Seongsu in Seongsu-dong and decided right away haha. It's so popular that I had to book through Naver Reservation first!
My friends were seriously into planning this bridal shower hahahaha, I'm just grateful they cared so much, I only have you guys 😳

A walk from Children's Grand Park Station, parking behind the building
The location is right in the middle of the Seongsu-dong hotspot area, so it was easy to find. We walked from Children's Grand Park Station, though the bus stop was even closer.

The usage guide and parking info they texted us that morning. There's also free parking behind the building, so driving there is fine too.
The way up to U&E.

Once you arrive, you change into indoor slippers to go in. There's waiting space right at the door, and a separate waiting room once you're inside.

There's a baby chair too, probably because they also shoot 100-day and first-birthday photos for kids!

4M-high horizon studio and free dress rental
Once the staff finished setting up the studio, they kindly guided us inside — and here's the studio interior where we shot: a large 4M-high horizon backdrop. The space was white and clean, which I loved, plus it was nice and cool haha.
They also had a list of rental dresses displayed, which was great. Things even wedding studios don't offer, this self-studio does... take notes, everyone.....
- All dresses free to rent (review event)
- Participate in the review event for free black or white dress rental
- Women's dresses, maternity dresses, men's suits, baby dresses
I was worried about buying an outfit just for the shoot, but I got to visit our bridal shower without any clothing stress hahaha. Two of my friends brought their own outfits, and one friend and I rented from the Seongsu self-photo studio!

The shoes were size 240 — I have huge feet, but there was one mule heel that fit me perfectly haha.

The prop cake and my friends' surprise fresh-flower cake
This is the prop cake often used in wedding photoshoots. Right as I was about to pick it up to take a photo, my friends pulled out a surprise cake 😳

I'm always the one bringing flowers and cakes for other people, so it had been forever since I received flowers plus a cake myself. It was a pretty white-and-green fresh-flower cake, and it matched perfectly with the white-and-green centerpiece I picked for the shoot.

Props and dressing room amenities
There were also baby shower props, maternity photo props, and kids' clothes for first-birthday and 100-day photos hanging up.
Ten sunglasses, easily enough for a group photo!

Nipple pads, a steam iron, hair dryer, curling iron, comb, clothespins — all inside the dressing room. My dress was a bit big, so my friends pinned it with clothespins! No back shots though, so it's fine 😳

Live-view monitor and centerpiece selection
A real-time live-view monitor! You can shoot while watching yourself and the results at the same time. You can choose a centerpiece when booking, from Standard, Green & Wildflower, Yellow, or Pastel Pink. We picked the fresh, clean Green & Wildflower option.

So excited, so excited. The dress I originally planned to wear turned out to have a corset back...! Because of time, I quickly switched to an easier slip dress hahaha.

A bridal shower shoot that ended in laughter
Since it was a bridal shower with my best friends, the whole mood was cheerful and fun. Honestly, we ended up just laughing the whole time hahahahahaha.

So defeated hahahaha, more than half the photos looked like this hahaha, it was so fun hahahaha. Made solid memories with the crew.
An official Sony bluetooth remote! Holding it in hand and pressing it comfortably let us create natural expressions and poses hahaha. It came out so natural I can't even share it hahahaha.

Not pretty, but trying to look pretty is genuinely hard hahahaha.
Am I really the main character...? 🤍 I have a 'can't be the main character' complex... but at least on this day, I wore the white dress with a veil while my friends matched in black dresses, for a real bridal-shower vibe. I gave it my all hahaha.
Holding sunglasses and the surprise cake, trying to look hip (attempting to) hahaha, with plenty of goofy expressions too... please look at my friend confidently wearing the groom's shoes hahahahahaha. Living without prejudice...🙄
My friends set up a spot for me too, so I got a few solo shots in!

Was it 10 years since we did this...?

Originals straight to your email, 2 retouched photos, prints shipped
Getting all the high-res originals sent straight to my email was so great!!!!! Someone please explain why wedding shoots take a whole month just for the originals...

When I got the originals, the photo quality was amazing! You could really tell the camera, lighting, display, and shooting software were all top-notch.
This would be great practice for engaged couples before their actual wedding shoot. It made me think about doing a self-wedding shoot too — seriously, try a self-shoot before your studio shoot. It makes a real difference.
The one shot where everyone looks normal, honestly the best cut hahahahaha.

There's a full-length mirror too, so I got a mirror shot in as well.

They also retouch 2 photos, and the printed photos get shipped to the address you enter! Shall we pick which ones...?😆
High-quality self-shooting, retouching service, and even a luxe printed photo package shipped to you — all in one stop! Getting professional-studio-level self-wedding results at an affordable price made this sold-out (busy) bride-to-be very happy, even if it's a late review.
If you want to leave a special bridal shower memory with close friends before the wedding, I highly recommend this Seongsu self-photo studio! Weekends and peak times fill up fast, so make sure to book through Naver Reservation first before visiting.
