Nowon sushi buffet for a triple family birthday: cream shrimp, Kuu Kuu

Six of us went to Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch (쿠우쿠우 노원점) for the birthday party of three family members! I already like Kuu Kuu, and since it had been a while, it seemed like there were even more kinds of food than before, so I left happy 💛 Here comes the detailed review!

Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch location and parking

Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch is a 14-minute walk from Hagye Station.

🚘 If you come by car, you can park in the Seoul Oncheon (서울온천) building car park, and the parking attendants guide you well! (You can park underground or in the parking tower.)

What the sushi and salad stations are like

The first place you head to at Kuu Kuu is, of course, the sushi station!! There was a really wide range, from basic sushi to rolls, gunkan (seaweed-wrapped sushi boats), and items with all kinds of toppings.

It wasn't just one or two types repeated; the lineup itself was varied, so even after the first lap I saw quite a few things I wanted to eat.

The salad station was great too! The salads looked super fresh 👍 There were easy ways to start, like lettuce salad and corn salad, and they were good for getting your appetite going.

Hot dishes and the en croûte soup

It's not only sushi; the hot dishes were quite varied too 💛 At a buffet you sometimes expect only sushi and get let down when the other items are weak, but here it felt like they'd put more care into the cooked dishes than I expected. There were things like pizza, fried food and meat, so the meal had a lot of range.

My first bowl!

I love this en croûte soup (soup topped with a pastry crust)! The combination of the nutty, crispy pastry and the smooth, creamy soup inside is so good! As the crust gradually soaks into the soup, you get crispy, moist and warm all at once, so I keep reaching for it ⭐️

Dessert: yellow cheese and matcha crepe cakes

After the meal, of course you have to visit the dessert and drinks corner~ There was fruit, sweet treats, drinks and even coffee, so the finish was perfect. At a buffet, weak desserts drag down the whole experience, but here there were so many kinds of dessert, which I loved.

The yellow cheese crepe cake and the matcha crepe cake were the best! 🍰 (Please try them 🧡)

There were lots of fried and other hot dishes too, but this cream shrimp was especially delicious, haha

My dessert plate, haha. The waffle was good too, but the cake is really my style 👍 And the bead ice cream tastes just like the kind sold in stores!

Inside: roomy enough for a party of six

The moment I walked in I was surprised at how big the place is! The tables aren't packed too close together, so we could eat without worrying about the neighboring tables, and it had less of that typical buffet chaos, which I liked. As expected, it's a top spot for a Nowon family gathering!!

The tables are well set up for groups 👍 There are tables for two, and also roomy tables good for families and group guests, so it looked easy to use however your party is arranged~

At a buffet, food keeps piling up, so small tables are a pain, but Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch felt much less cramped.

Even when we brought back small portions on several plates, we never ran out of space, and the staff cleared our plates often while we ate, which I liked 😁

The traffic flow is smooth too, so you can eat comfortably without feeling crowded, haha
