Wood-toned Yeonnam-dong pasta restaurant, 2 mains + 1 side: Rangteu

Rangteu Yeonnam (랑트 연남) is a fusion pasta restaurant in an alley of Yeonnam-dong, Mapo, Seoul, close to Exit 3 of Hongik Univ. Station. Two diners shared Monterey gochujang cream gnocchi, beef brisket melchovy (anchovy) cream pasta and chili peanut menbosha (shrimp toast), and all three dishes worked well together, with warm lighting, wood-tone decor and a friendly owner adding to the meal. Rangteu Yeonnam is a solid Yeonnam-dong date pick for anyone who wants both atmosphere and well-made food.

Songdo window café for decaf and chocolate scoop cake: Standard Square

Standard Square is a café on the ground floor of a building on Keonbensia-daero in Songdo, Yeonsu, Incheon, known for its coffee and chocolate scoop cake. On a weekday visit, the writer ordered the chocolate scoop cake, an americano and a decaf americano, and the clean blue-and-white interior, the big windows and the rich yet clean coffee stood out. Standard Square is a Songdo window café well suited to coffee and dessert on a nice day.
