I headed to Songdo this time! Standard Square (스탠다드 스퀘어) is famous for its coffee, and lately I kept seeing people eating its scoop cakes, so I got curious and had to visit.

If you're looking for a café with a nice atmosphere in Songdo, this is worth a visit~! Sometimes when you search "café" in the navigation app, it doesn't take you straight to the parking lot, you know? I think it's quicker to enter the Standard Square parking lot directly. It's on the ground floor, so it wasn't hard to find, and with parking available it was easy to come by car.

What are the atmosphere and seats like at Standard Square?

Inside, Standard Square felt clean and modern overall. (The blue and white combo is amazing...) The tables are spaced nicely, so it was easy to chat, and it's also good for quietly drinking coffee. The mellow mood looked fine for a date or a visit with a friend! There are quite a lot of seats, all the way into the corners, so you probably won't get turned away for lack of a spot~

Above all, look at these bright floor-to-ceiling windows...! I just love big windows these days, sob. It's the perfect spot to order a coffee, zone out and watch the outside... It isn't too hectic out there, with lots of big trees and a quiet feel, almost like being on a trip abroad... Isn't the weather amazing?!

Busy even on weekdays, and beans are for sale

I visited on a weekday and customers kept coming in, so it's clearly a famous place! Lots of people were ordering takeout too, and before I'd even eaten I thought, this must be a top dessert spot in Songdo!

They sell several kinds of coffee beans on one side~! I trust that a café that sells beans like this at least guarantees good coffee. There's a wide variety of beans, so coffee lovers can pick what suits their taste!

The menu board is neat, and even the restroom password is written on it~!

We ordered americanos, but I heard Standard Square uses fresh 1A-grade milk, so the lattes are probably good too! Next time I'm going for a latte!

There are several kinds of cookies too, prettily displayed in that trendy style! That red velvet looks so good, honestly...

What we ordered at Standard Square

At Standard Square we ordered a chocolate scoop cake, an americano and a decaf americano. When you're craving something sweet and chocolatey, I totally recommend this combo… 👍

The looks are amazing, right? sob I didn't know what a scoop cake was at first, but it comes out so you can scoop right into it! It's piled with toppings and the size is generous, so two of us were full after eating it.

How do the americano and decaf americano taste?

The Standard Square americano had a subtle acidity and was easy to drink! The decaf was clean too, with no big difference from the regular americano, so it's a fine order when you need coffee in the evening. The coffee itself felt rich yet clean, so it went well with dessert. I love that they give you a coffee bean explanation card(?)!

Is the chocolate scoop cake very sweet?

And the chocolate scoop cake I was most looking forward to! It was pretty from the start, so great for photos, and the chocolate flavor was rich, so chocolate lovers will probably be satisfied. It isn't just sweet and nothing else, and eaten with coffee the balance was good. Personally, I'd recommend having it with an americano.

Is Standard Square in Songdo worth going back to?

The coffee was good and the dessert was satisfying, so I get why Standard Square is so often recommended as a top café in Songdo, Incheon. I want to go to a big-window café on a nice day! Especially if you want dessert too, Standard Square is worth a visit!!
