It had been a while since I'd been to a sushi buffet, so I went to KuuKuu Gold Bupyeong Branch, widely known as a go-to sushi spot in Bupyeong. I'd been to regular KuuKuu, but never KuuKuu Gold, so I was excited. It's on the 9th floor of the Donga Wellbeing Town building near Bupyeong Market Station, so getting there was really easy.

KuuKuu Gold Bupyeong weekday dinner price and atmosphere
The weekday dinner price at KuuKuu Gold Bupyeong Branch was ₩31,900 per adult! We went on a weekday evening, and even at dinner time the restaurant was pleasant and kept clean and tidy.
The tables are spaced generously, so you can have a relaxed, cozy dinner without bumping into anyone. From the window seats you can eat while looking out over an open city night view, which added a subtle, atmospheric touch.
There's also a kids' café at KuuKuu Gold Bupyeong Branch. Families with little ones should find it easier to eat here than at other places, haha. Of course, at a buffet you sit down for a moment and then head straight off to get food. We went straight for the food too, lol.

What's at the sushi and sashimi station at KuuKuu Gold Bupyeong?
The sushi station at KuuKuu Gold Bupyeong Branch is lavishly laid out with dozens of kinds of sushi, gunkan (seaweed-wrapped sushi) and rolls, including flounder, raw salmon, tuna, scallop, beef sashimi, beef tataki, raw shrimp and soy-marinated shrimp. The sushi the chefs shape on the spot looked glossy and you could tell at a glance how fresh it was.
There was so much variety that deciding what to pick up first was a happy dilemma, over and over!

The rice portion isn't excessive, and the ratio to the moist fish is just right, so it's easy to sample lots of kinds without feeling stuffed. There's also separate children's tableware, so feeding little ones shouldn't be a worry~
After making the rounds of the sushi station, here's the sushi I piled on my plate!! I tried the raw salmon sushi, the seasoned gunkan and the beef sushi in turn, and the fresh, savory flavor melting in my mouth was outstanding.
Besides sushi, the sushi and sashimi station keeps seafood like smoked salmon sashimi, tuna tataki, seasoned shrimp, soy-marinated crab and boiled octopus fresh, which was pure heaven for a seafood fanatic like me haha.
What can you grill at the KuuKuu Gold self-grill zone?
At the self-grill zone of KuuKuu Gold Bupyeong Branch, you can grill your own meat, such as brisket (chadolbaegi), pork neck, pork belly, marinated pork ribs and chicken neck. This self-grill zone is what really sets KuuKuu Gold apart from regular KuuKuu. Getting golden-grilled meat at a sushi buffet, not just sushi, felt fresh and appealing.
The meat fridge held several cuts, and everything to grill alongside was set out too: king oyster mushrooms, shiitake, garlic skewers, ginkgo nut skewers, lettuce wraps with ssamjang (seasoned dipping paste) and sesame oil dip.
At the dedicated grill station I grilled brisket and ginkgo skewers until golden and dipped them lightly in ssamjang. Having warm meat in the middle of eating sushi turned out to be a better and newer combination than I expected haha.
KuuKuu Gold Bupyeong hot food and noodle dishes
The hot food lineup at KuuKuu Gold Bupyeong Branch was richer than I'd imagined.

It was full of upscale dishes kept freshly made and warm: soup en croûte, kkwabaerou (Chinese-style sweet and sour pork), yuringi (fried chicken in soy-vinegar sauce), spicy mala xiangguo, sweet-and-salty BBQ pork ribs, boiling seafood and grilled oysters.
On top of that huge hot food corner, there's also a self-serve ramen corner and rice separately. haha
There was also spicy, refreshing jjamppong (spicy seafood noodle soup) boiled to order, hot udon topped with crispy shrimp tempura, and cold soba (naengmomil) to settle the stomach, so I lost track of time picking and choosing.

KuuKuu Gold Bupyeong dessert corner: strawberry fondue fountain and waffles
The dessert corner at KuuKuu Gold Bupyeong Branch has seasonal fruit, macarons and cakes, along with a chocolate fountain and a pink strawberry fondue fountain. I was stuffed, but there's always a separate stomach for sweet desserts! For a happy finish, I headed to the dessert and drink corner.
Fresh, sweet seasonal fruit like orange, melon and kiwi, colorful chewy macarons, cakes, and the eye-catching chocolate and strawberry fondue fountains made me happy just looking at them.
I spread whipped cream and apple jam generously on a crispy, freshly baked waffle, topped a nutty milk snowflake bingsu (shaved ice) with red bean and rice cakes, and also made sure to get bead ice cream that pops colorfully in your mouth and rich soft serve. I rinsed my mouth with a cool three-color slush and fruit ade, and it was a satisfying dinner. haha
Who is KuuKuu Gold Bupyeong good for?
KuuKuu Gold Bupyeong Branch was a solid Bupyeong restaurant with a well-stocked range of sushi, meat, hot food and desserts. It isn't just padding the number of dishes; the freshness and quality of each item were great, so I enjoyed a satisfyingly abundant dinner for the first time in a while.
If you think, "I want all the sushi I can eat!", "I want sushi but my friend can't eat it!" or "I want to try all kinds of food!", KuuKuu Gold Bupyeong Branch is the answer haha. If you want sushi and a wide variety of dishes near Bupyeong Market Station or elsewhere in Bupyeong, give it a visit!
