Jonggak beef BBQ in an air-conditioned private room: Yukrab Jongno
In short
Yukrab Jongno (육랩 종로점) is a Korean beef BBQ restaurant on the 3rd floor of Pyeongae Building in the Jonggak food alley behind Bosingak, a 2-minute walk from Jonggak Station Exit 4 in Jongno, Seoul. The writer reserved a private room ahead of time and grilled Yukrab Jongno's signature à la carte cuts, 2 servings of jingalbisal (beef rib finger meat) and then 1 serving of sirloin. Each room's own system air conditioner kept the air free of smoke and smell. For tender jingalbisal and juicy sirloin in a quiet private room, Yukrab Jongno is a good fit.

Today I'm sharing a place where I enjoyed tasty beef in a classy setting, haha. If you're looking for a private, upscale beef restaurant near Jonggak, pay attention! This time I went to Yukrab Jongno (육랩 종로점), a BBQ restaurant near Jonggak Station!
Yukrab Jongno hours, reservations and parking
Yukrab Jongno is open daily from 11:30 to 22:00, with a break from 14:30 to 16:30 and last order at 21:00. For parking you need to use a nearby public car park. You can reserve through Naver, and there are high chairs for babies.
How do you get to Yukrab Jongno from Jonggak Station?
Yukrab Jongno is only a 2-minute walk from Jonggak Station Exit 4, so it was really easy to reach by public transport!

It's on the 3rd floor of Pyeongae Building in the Jonggak food alley behind Bosingak, so the access is great ;)

Inside Yukrab Jongno and the seating
Yukrab Jongno has hall tables and rooms! Step inside and you get a modern, clean, upscale feel!

Window tables

The hall tables are lined up along the windows, so the open view makes it feel really airy, not stuffy at all! They apparently open all the windows when the weather is nice, which sounds so pleasant!
Private rooms with individual air conditioners
Yukrab Jongno has plenty of private rooms, which makes it perfect for a quiet meal! I booked ahead and was shown to a room :)

Each room has its own system air conditioner, so besides controlling the temperature, the meat smell and smoke get ventilated well, and it felt really fresh and comfortable 👍👍 With such well-prepared seating, I think it would also suit a date, an important business meeting or a company dinner ☺️

Side dishes and sauces at Yukrab Jongno

Yukrab Jongno serves neat side dishes, a fresh salad and sauces, all laid out tidily!

There are pickles (jangajji) that go well with meat, wasabi and a special sauce, haha. The staff also kindly refill the side dishes generously when you ask, so I was happy with both the value and the service!
What we ordered at Yukrab Jongno: jingalbisal for 2 and sirloin for 1

Yukrab Jongno has everything from à la carte grilled meats to good-value set menus! That day we ordered the signature à la carte items: jingalbisal for 2 and sirloin for 1!

At last the jingalbisal for 2 and sirloin for 1 arrived, looking gorgeous! One look at the bright red meat and the lovely marbling and my mouth was watering 🤤

The staff told us it's best to eat the jingalbisal first and then the sirloin!
How does the jingalbisal taste?

The jingalbisal, which we grilled first, filled my mouth with a rich, nutty aroma the moment it hit the grill!

The moment I bit in, the soft texture melting away was truly the best!! Eaten with wasabi, salt or the special sauce, it cut the richness and left just a nutty flavor. Ahh~~~ it was glistening so much 😍
How does the sirloin taste?

Next, the sirloin was thick, so the chew and the juiciness were really impressive!

It was grilled crisp outside and moist inside, so I could properly taste the meat's own flavor. The tender jingalbisal paired with the nutty, juicy sirloin was a perfect combination! haha
