Station-connected hot pot in Magok, Seoul: weekend lunch set, J's Pot

In short

J's Pot Magok Branch is a hot pot restaurant on basement level 2 of COEX Magok in Gangseo, Seoul, connected directly to Magongnaru Station. On a return visit for a weekend lunch, the writer had the 17,500-won lunch set as one pot per person: a choice of 1 of 5 broths, served with mixed vegetables, 100g of thinly sliced beef brisket, steamed white rice and fish balls. Because the J's Pot lunch set runs on weekends too, the writer rates it a Magok hot pot spot worth coming back to.

Weekend lunch near Magongnaru Station: why I went back to J's Pot Magok Branch

J's Pot Magok Branch (제이스팟 마곡점) is known as a Magongnaru hot pot place, and it's on basement level 2 of COEX Magok. When I can't decide what to eat near Magongnaru Station on a weekend lunch, it's the first place that comes to mind these days. It also works well for company dinners, weekend family meals and get-togethers with friends.

This was actually a return visit. I kept thinking about it, so I went again, haha. This time I'll tell you about properly enjoying Magok hot pot for lunch.

How to get to J's Pot Magok Branch from Magongnaru Station, and what it's like inside

J's Pot Magok Branch is in the basement of COEX Magok, and it's connected straight to the building from Magongnaru Station, so it's easy to reach even on a rainy day. On the basement level 2 directory, it's right next to Shanghailu (상해루), so it wasn't hard to find.

The banner at the entrance said it has been selected by the Blue Ribbon Survey six years in a row, and there's a bench out front, so waiting was fine. Inside, the red lighting and chandeliers made it feel cozy, and they say reservations are possible for 1 to 40 people, so it seems like a good fit for a Magongnaru company dinner too.

Yes! The lunch set at J's Pot Magok Branch is ₩17,500, from 11:00 to 15:00, Monday to Sunday. Being able to get the lunch set on weekends too was honestly my favorite thing about it.

You pick one of 5 broths, and it comes with mixed vegetables, 100g of beef brisket, steamed white rice and 2 fish balls. Since it's one pot per person, everyone can choose their own broth even if tastes differ, which is convenient.
