Jeonpo tonkatsu with side curry and potato croquette: Katsu Gimseondo
Katsu Gimseondo is a Japanese tonkatsu restaurant on Seojeon-ro in Jeonpo-dong, Busanjin, Busan, open since 2022 and now in its fourth year. On a rainy late lunch the writer ordered the half-and-half katsu for 15,000 won with a side curry for 3,000 won, plus shrimp tempura and a potato croquette, and even the loin was tender after 200 hours of aging in nuruk salt. The katsu sando was sold out that day, but the curry and croquette alone made Katsu Gimseondo worth the trip.
