Cafe Iseo Hongcheon Branch (카페이서 홍천점) is a brunch café near Palbongsan Tourist Area in Seomyeon, Hongcheon. We stopped by for a break on our way to Sokcho. Let me introduce this Hongcheon brunch favorite.

We had left early in the morning, so we were hungry and wanted a relaxing cup of coffee too. It turned out more satisfying than I expected.

The café is on Hanchigol-gil in Seomyeon, and I heard it's popular with people coming and going from Vivaldi Park. No wonder it shows up every time you search for a good Hongcheon café.
When I visited, the big parking lot and pleasant space meant lots of travelers and families. It was a holiday, so customers were already pouring in right when it opened.
What's the atmosphere like at Cafe Iseo Hongcheon?
As soon as you walk in, the green scenery outside the big windows catches your eye. Nature you rarely see in the city made the trip feel even more like a trip.

It's a nice place to rest during a drive, and I could see why so many people looking for food near Vivaldi Park in Hongcheon come here.

The interior was spacious and tidy. The tables were spaced generously so we could eat comfortably, and it looked perfectly good for group gatherings or a family meal out.
It looked like a nice date spot too. The window seats, where you can eat while looking at the scenery, were especially popular.
The brunch menu we ordered at Cafe Iseo Hongcheon

For brunch we ordered the avocado cobb salad and the bolognese ragu pasta, plus coffee and real mango juice. As you'd expect from a brunch specialist, the menu was varied, with plenty of healthy options to choose from.

Avocado cobb salad, ₩16,500: how big is the portion?
The avocado cobb salad (₩16,500) came out first. It was packed with fresh avocado, olives, corn, cherry tomatoes, boiled egg, bacon, celery and cheese, and it made me feel healthier just looking at it.
The dressing wasn't overpowering, so it was easy to eat. The portion was really generous too.

I don't usually eat avocado much, but as a salad like this it was really delicious, and I was very happy with it.
I thought of it as a light brunch on the road, but the portion was more generous than I expected, which was satisfying.

Bolognese ragu pasta, ₩19,500: is it very spicy if you order it spicy?
The bolognese ragu pasta at Cafe Iseo is ₩19,500: fettuccine generously tossed in house-simmered ragu sauce. It came with 2 pieces of bread. The pasta was better than I expected too.

The noodles were cooked just right, and the sauce wasn't heavy but had a clean taste.

They asked how spicy I wanted it when I ordered, and I asked for spicy, then worried a little afterward, but I didn't really find it very hot.

Eaten together with the salad, it was even more harmonious, and I felt the combination left nothing lacking for a brunch.
Coffee and sugar-free real mango juice
The drinks came out before the food. The buzzer is super loud, haha.
Cafe Iseo is known as a good Hongcheon café for coffee as well as brunch, and after trying it I could see why. I ordered the nutty-flavored coffee. It smelled great and tasted clean, perfect to finish the meal.
The real mango juice is made by blending 2 mangoes, so it's incredibly thick. It has no added sugar, so it isn't sweet, which I liked.

Is Cafe Iseo Hongcheon worth a stop on a road trip?
You can enjoy brunch, coffee and dessert all in one place, so it was a really good stop during a trip.

We dropped in by chance on the way to Sokcho, but Cafe Iseo became a memorable spot.

I'd recommend it to anyone looking for Hongcheon brunch, and also to people looking for food near Vivaldi Park, a café near Palbongsan, or a restaurant near Palbongsan in Hongcheon.

If you're craving tasty brunch and a fragrant cup of coffee on the road, spend some relaxed time at Cafe Iseo.

Thanks to Cafe Iseo, our trip to Sokcho was even more enjoyable and full.
