Songdo outlet café for weekend parking: cream coffee & kaimak, Wunder

In short

Wunder Coffee Bar Hyundai Premium Outlet Songdo Branch is an open coffee bar in the B1 food square of Hyundai Premium Outlet Songdo in Yeonsu, Incheon. Two iced Wunder coffees (6,800 won each) and a kaimak (clotted cream) set with honey and white ciabatta (9,500 won) were shared, and the slightly bitter cream coffee balanced the sweetness of the honey-topped kaimak. Wunder Coffee Bar Songdo suits a dessert break while shopping better than a quiet café for working.

When you're shopping at the Songdo Hyundai Premium Outlet, sometimes you don't want a meal, just something sweet and a coffee. This day I ordered the signature Wunder coffee and kaimak (clotted cream) at Wunder Coffee Bar Hyundai Premium Outlet Songdo Branch, in the B1 food square.

Where is Wunder Coffee Bar in Hyundai Premium Outlet Songdo?

Wunder Coffee Bar is in the B1 food square of the Hyundai Premium Outlet Songdo, 123 Songdogukje-daero, Yeonsu-gu, Incheon, South Korea. The outlet connects directly to Exit 2 of Tekeunopakeu Station on Incheon Line 1, so it's easy to reach by public transport.

The Songdo branch is less a big standalone café and more an open coffee bar in the middle of the food square.

Menu boards stand around the order counter, and after you get your drink you use the shared tables nearby. It's a natural spot to have coffee after eating in the outlet without going far, and it was easy to drop in for a sit-down while shopping.

On the other hand, if you expect a café where you can linger over quiet music or work on a laptop, the atmosphere may feel a bit different.

What kind of brand is Wunder Coffee Bar?

Wunder Coffee Bar Songdo, a coffee brand that started in Bucheon

Wunder Coffee Bar is a coffee brand that started in 2019 in Yeokgok-dong, Bucheon, and now also has shops in Sinchon and Songdo. Its signature items are the Wunder coffee, with cream on top of the coffee, and the Wunder Gato, made with ice cream, so it suits people looking for a sweeter, softer signature drink than a standard Americano.

The Songdo menu has not only coffee but also plenty of dessert-leaning items like ice cream, kaimak, cream matcha, cream ube and cream chocolate.

The signature Wunder coffee is ₩6,800, available hot or iced. It's a cream-latte style drink that lets you enjoy soft cream and strong coffee together.

The Wunder Gato, topped with ice cream, is ₩7,500, and the matcha Spanner is ₩7,000, while the ube Spanner and mocha Spanner are ₩6,800 each. For the Wunder Gato you can choose the ice cream flavor from hojicha (roasted green tea), vanilla, or a mix of hojicha and vanilla, so it's easy to pick to your taste.

Basic coffees were Americano ₩5,000, café latte ₩5,500 and vanilla latte ₩6,000, with decaf, oat milk and lactose-free milk swaps available. Menu and prices may change depending on when you visit.

What does the iced Wunder coffee taste like?

Two Wunder coffees ordered iced

This day I ordered two Wunder coffees iced. In a deep purple cup, milk and espresso formed layers, with cream softly sitting on top.

The first taste is the nutty, sweet cream, and then the strong coffee follows and holds it together. It wasn't a case of only sweet cream or only bitter coffee; the two flavors flowed into each other naturally.

The texture is smoother and heavier than an ordinary iced latte, but it wasn't just sugary like a dessert drink. I think it suits people who like sweet cream coffee but still want some coffee aroma left.

Rather than stirring everything from the start, sipping the cream on top and the coffee below together a little at a time lets you feel the Wunder coffee's layers better. I also liked that as it mixed naturally over time, the taste got even smoother.

What comes in the kaimak set and how to eat it

Kaimak set with honey and white ciabatta

The kaimak at the Songdo branch came with honey and white ciabatta for ₩9,500. If you want more bread, you can order extra white ciabatta for ₩3,900.

The ciabatta came cut into bite-size pieces, so it was easy to top straight away with kaimak and honey. The outside is golden and plain, and the inside is soft and chewy, which went well with the creamy kaimak.

The kaimak itself is mostly a nutty milk flavor, and the honey served with it supplies the sweetness. Pile kaimak generously on the bread, add the honey on top, and you get plain richness and sweetness all at once.

Scooping kaimak generously with honey on top worked better than spreading it thinly on the bread. That way, kaimak's soft, thick texture came through much more clearly.

Do Wunder coffee and kaimak go well together?

Table set with Wunder coffee and kaimak

If you keep eating only kaimak, the honey's sweetness and the dairy richness can pile up, but a sip of Wunder coffee in between cleans up your palate with its strong coffee taste. The Wunder coffee also has cream, but the espresso's bitterness stays, so it wasn't heavy alongside the kaimak.

Kaimak dessert paired with Wunder coffee

If you want just one coffee and one dessert, the Americano and kaimak set is a practical choice too. The menu had a set of kaimak with an Americano for ₩14,000, with +₩500 to switch to a latte and +₩1,000 to switch to a vanilla latte.

If two of you visit, two Wunder coffees and one kaimak to share is a good amount. Kaimak is less a filling meal and more a dessert to taste slowly with coffee.

What else is on the menu besides coffee?

Wunder Coffee Bar soft serve and Wunder Gato menu

If you like sweet things, the soft serve and Wunder Gato also catch the eye. Soft serve is ₩6,500 with a choice of hojicha, vanilla or mixed, and a chocolate shell is ₩1,000 extra.

Wunder Coffee Bar cream series and fruit drink menu

The cream series has three types, cream matcha, cream ube and cream chocolate, all ₩6,500. A plus is that there's a fairly wide choice if someone in your group doesn't drink coffee or you're visiting with a child.

For something refreshing, there were tangerine-grapefruit juice and tangerine-grapefruit ade at ₩6,500 each. On days when you want fruit drinks more than coffee, those are a fine choice.

Is Wunder Coffee Bar Songdo good for talking or laptop work?

Shared table seating in the outlet food square

For a short chat while shopping with friends or family, it was no problem. There are several shared tables where you can comfortably lay out your drinks and desserts, so it's a good setup for sitting on after a meal.

However, since it's inside the food square, you hear the noise of nearby restaurants and other visitors. If you're looking for a quiet date café or a place to focus on laptop work, a standalone café may suit you better.

Wunder Coffee Bar Songdo suited a break during outlet shopping or a sweet treat after a meal more than a long stay.

Hyundai Premium Outlet Songdo parking and public transport

If you come by car, use the Hyundai Premium Outlet Songdo parking lot. Currently the lot is free on weekdays, and on weekends and holidays you get 3 hours free with a purchase of ₩10,000 or more and 5 hours free with ₩100,000 or more. Once you go over the free time, it's ₩1,000 per 10 minutes.

Two Wunder coffees plus kaimak come to more than ₩10,000, so it also helps you meet the weekend free parking threshold. Still, it's safer to check how purchases at other outlet stores count and how to register your parking when you pay.

By public transport, Exit 2 of Tekeunopakeu Station on Incheon Line 1 connects directly to the outlet. Even on hot or rainy days you don't have to walk outside much, so access is pretty good.

Who Wunder Coffee Bar Songdo is best for

Wunder coffee and kaimak at Wunder Coffee Bar Songdo

Wunder Coffee Bar Hyundai Premium Outlet Songdo Branch suits people who want a sweet signature coffee rather than a plain Americano while shopping. If you like soft cream coffee or want a light taste of kaimak in Songdo, it's a combination you'd probably be happy with.

Ordering Wunder coffee and kaimak together especially worked, as the sweetness and the coffee's bitterness balanced each other, a better combination than ordering just one. On the other hand, if a quiet café mood or seats for long work sessions matter to you, it's good to know in advance that this is a food square shop.

Final thoughts

If you finish a meal at the Songdo Hyundai Outlet and can't decide on dessert, try a Wunder coffee with kaimak. Next time I visit, I'd like to pick the Wunder Gato with ice cream on top.
