Where is Gallilli Daegae Hoe Sikdang in Pohang?
Gallilli Daegae Hoe Sikdang (갈릴리대게회식당) is inside Jukdo Market in Pohang, at 35 Jukdosijang-gil, Buk-gu, Pohang, Gyeongbuk, South Korea. It is open daily from 09:30 to 22:30, with last order at 20:30.
Tanks line up under the "Delicious Sea Gallilli" sign, and the sea smell at the entrance greets you with "Welcome! Did you brace your wallet today?" haha

How much are the crab sets at Gallilli Daegae Hoe Sikdang?
According to the menu board out front, the Korean bakdal snow crab set (국산박달대게세트) is ₩150,000 for 2, ₩210,000 for 3 and ₩270,000 for 4, and the bakdal snow crab set starts at ₩130,000 for 2. I took a moment to catch my breath after seeing the prices before going in 😂

Seafood tanks and dining room atmosphere
The tanks are packed with red crab, bakdal snow crab, large amberjack (daebang), flounder and more, sorted by type 🐟 They all looked so fresh that they seemed to be pushing each other forward: "Take that one, not me!" haha
Inside, tables are lined up across a large hall, so even a family gathering or a group would have plenty of room 🪑

There's a big menu board on the wall too. After much agonizing, we ordered the red crab set 🦀 The bakdal snow crab I'm leaving to my future self on the next payday haha

What side dishes come with the red crab set?
The red crab set starts with abalone porridge 🥣 It was nutty and warm, and settled the stomach before the main event.

Then the side dishes arrived! 😍 The table filled up so much that I played a round of Tetris looking for space to put the bowls haha

Soy-marinated crab, corn cheese, mulhoe (cold raw fish soup) and sweet potato
Let me introduce the sides one by one 🥢 Ganjang gejang (soy-marinated crab), corn cheese, mulhoe (chilled raw fish soup) and sweet potato. The side dish class was something else from the very start.

The soy crab wasn't salty, just left with deep savory flavor, and the corn cheese was so addictive that when I came to, I was staring at the bottom of the dish 😂

Seasoned carrots, spicy raw fish salad and white kimchi
There were also seasoned carrots, hoe-muchim (spicy-sour raw fish salad) and baek-kimchi (white kimchi) 🥕 The tangy hoe-muchim and cool white kimchi neatly reset your mouth between bites.

Seafood sides: webfoot octopus, sea squirt, abalone and mushrooms
The seafood sides are generous too: webfoot octopus, sea squirt, abalone and mushrooms 🐙 Eating just the sides felt like a lap around the sea.
Here's a closer look at the mushrooms, sea squirt and abalone. The sea squirt was fragrant and the abalone was crunchy, and with just a bit of chojang (sweet chili vinegar sauce) it never ends 😋

Clam soup and yukhoe (Korean beef tartare)
Clam soup mukbang time! 🐚 Packed with bean sprouts and clams, one spoonful of broth and you can't help but say "Ahh~"

Can't skip the yukhoe (Korean beef tartare) mukbang either 🥩 It's tossed with vegetables in a sweet and sour seasoning, and my chopsticks had no intention of stopping. I filmed myself mixing it up, and it looks mouthwatering even just watching.
Here's what it looks like piled high on chopsticks! 😆 The sweet and sour seasoning clings well, and one bite wakes up your appetite.

I picked up a piece of soy crab too 🦀 It was packed with meat, not so much a rice thief as a rice robber haha

Abalone and sashimi
Here I'm dipping abalone in chojang 😋 With that crunchy chew, I thought, "Ah, this is why people come to the sea."
I tried the sashimi too 🐟 The thin, translucent slices came with lemon, and it looked like a high-end Japanese restaurant right away.

I also made a big wrap with sashimi on lettuce, topped with chojang and garlic 🥬 Wrapping sashimi is the golden rule, after all.

Is the red crab at Gallilli Daegae Hoe Sikdang meaty?
The star of the set, the red crab, arrived piled high on the plate, bright red, and silence fell over the table... (because we were eating haha)
Open the crab shell and it's full of guts 😍 The nutty aroma hits you, a clear sign that you should mix rice into it.

The shrimp were plump and the red crab legs were packed with meat 🦐 When I pulled a leg out, the crab meat came out in one whole piece, and I clapped for myself 👏

The red crab body was full of meat too. Wearing plastic gloves and picking away, conversation vanished and only focus remained haha

Are there any perks at Gallilli Daegae Hoe Sikdang?
There's a Naver Store follow event near the counter 📱 Scan the QR code and follow the store, and you get a free drink and a parking ticket, so be sure to take advantage 👍
Verdict on the red crab set
I was really satisfied with Gallilli Daegae Hoe Sikdang: fresh seafood picked right from the tanks, and generous side dishes on top 🦀 Definitely try the corn cheese, the soy crab and the packed red crab meat! If you're craving crab in Pohang's Jukdo Market, stop by once 😊
