Seoul alley café by Konkuk Univ.: Einspänner & cheesecake, Café Ohkam

Café Ohkam is a place near Konkuk Univ. where you can enjoy tasty desserts and coffee. I had a lovely, sweet time at this atmospheric café! I'm planning to come back soon to see if its name as a Konkuk Univ. bingsu (shaved ice) hotspot is deserved haha.

How do you get to Café Ohkam from Konkuk Univ. Station?

Café Ohkam is a 5-minute walk from Exit 2 of Konkuk Univ. Station. It sits in a quiet alley one street in from the main Konkuk Univ. street, in a building that feels like a family home.

The "don't touch cat!" sign and a cat named Koko

There's a sign at the entrance of Café Ohkam saying "don't touch cat!", because apparently a cat drops by now and then! haha I didn't see the cat when I went, but I hear a tuxedo cat named Koko shows up often, so I'd love to meet it next time...!!

What are the seats and interior of Café Ohkam like?

Café Ohkam is fairly big, with a 1st floor, a 2nd floor and even a terrace, so there's plenty of room to sit. The interior is clean and cozy, so I think it would work well for a date around Konkuk Univ. Stairs lead up to the 2nd floor and the terrace seats.

Maybe because the whole café is white-toned, it feels clean, brighter and more spacious. There are seats in every corner, so it should also be good for coming with a group.

What's on the menu at Café Ohkam, and how much is it?

Café Ohkam is also famous for its bingsu!! The fresh mango bingsu is ₩23,000, and it looked so delicious that I thought I'd definitely have to come back for it haha. There's also a baguette with kaymak (clotted cream) for ₩10,000, which seems great for enjoying the rich, nutty kaymak, and the classic French toast (₩8,900) takes about 15 minutes to prepare once ordered, so keep that in mind!

Café Ohkam has a wide range of coffee and non-coffee drinks, so it's easy to pick something to your taste. There are lots of unusual items you rarely see at other cafés, especially the basil tomato ade labeled as a best-seller! I'd guess the fragrance of basil and the freshness of tomato go well together. By the way, I couldn't help wondering why the pomegranate lemon ade is ₩6,600?! hahaha

The best-selling coffees at Café Ohkam are said to be the brûlée Einspänner and the Delos crumble latte, which seem good to order when you need a sugar boost.

Café Ohkam's dessert case: fruit sando, cakes, tiramisu and financiers

At Café Ohkam you can also browse the desserts sold in the shop, like fruit sando (fruit sandwiches), cakes, tiramisu and financiers (small almond cakes)! I think whatever you pick will be satisfying, since the desserts all look good haha. The fruit sando has yogurt cream in it, so it seems refreshing for hot weather like these days!

How do the Einspänner latte and strawberry cheesecake taste?

At Café Ohkam I ordered two coffees and a cake! Both the coffee and the cake look so good haha.

I ordered an Einspänner latte and a café latte, and the two glasses were different shapes, which was so cute haha.

The Einspänner latte comes piled with sweet cream! The thick, dense cream was so appealing and went harmoniously with the coffee.

The strawberry-topped cheesecake has a very appealing dense, thick texture! At Café Ohkam, a Konkuk Univ. dessert hotspot, I got to spend a lovely time with good coffee and cake :)
