Yangpyeong butcher shop for Hongcheon glamping BBQ: Jeongyuk Mart
In short
Jeongyuk Mart (정육마트) is a butcher shop near Exit 1 of Yongmun Station in Yangpyeong, Gyeonggi, selling hanwoo (Korean beef), Korean pork, imported meat, marinated meat and soup meal kits. For a charcoal BBQ at a glamping site in Hongcheon, the writer picked up Jeongyuk Mart's hanwoo special-cuts assortment of sirloin, ribeye cap (saeusal), jebichuri (chuck rib strip) and eopjinsal (brisket plate), which came with shredded green onion salad and herb salt, so no extra grocery run was needed. Two people ate until stuffed for under ₩100,000, making Jeongyuk Mart a handy stop on the way to camping or pension stays in Gangwon-do.

The place in charge of the BBQ on this Hongcheon trip was a Yangpyeong butcher shop, Jeongyuk Mart (정육마트).

It's a hanwoo (Korean beef) assortment with lots of different cuts, and they packed it neatly with green onion salad too, so it's really easy to pick up on the way to a camping or pension BBQ.
Jeongyuk Mart in Yangpyeong: hours, parking and how to get there
Jeongyuk Mart is open daily from 08:30 to 20:30, a 2-minute walk from Exit 1 of Yongmun Station on the Gyeongui-Jungang Line. For parking, you can use the nearby public lot, and Naver Reservation is also available.
This Yangpyeong butcher shop is easy to find thanks to a sign you can see from far away.

The Yongmun Cheonyeon Market public parking lot is right across the street, so parking is easy too.

It's easy to find by public transport as well. There's a bus stop right in front of the shop, so it's accessible even if you're traveling on foot.
What meat and ingredients does Jeongyuk Mart sell?
Jeongyuk Mart sells hanwoo and Korean pork, of course, plus imported meat, marinated meat, chicken, lamb and processed meat, and it also has salt, seasonings and soup meal kits. Even on a weekday morning the shop already had plenty of customers, so I snapped these quickly while it was empty.

Besides hanwoo, there's good-quality Korean pork too, so it's a good fit for anyone looking for tasty pork belly rather than beef.

Below is the pork corner.

Beyond hanwoo and Korean pork, they also sell imported meat, all kinds of marinated meat, chicken, lamb and processed meat.

They have salt, seasonings and soup meal kits too, so you can buy everything in one go while getting your meat, with no separate supermarket stop. That made it even more convenient.

You can see right away that the meat-trimming area is kept clean too, which was reassuring.
What's in Jeongyuk Mart's hanwoo special-cuts assortment?
The hanwoo special-cuts assortment I bought this time was made up of sirloin, saewoo-sal (shrimp-cut), jebi-chumi (beef flank-skirt cut) and eobjin-sal (brisket-belly cut). I'd guess the cuts change each time.

How does the hanwoo assortment taste grilled over charcoal at a Hongcheon glamping site?
I put the hanwoo special-cuts assortment straight onto the charcoal grill at the Hongcheon glamping site. The thickness was just right, neither too thick nor too thin, so as soon as a piece was cooked it went straight into my mouth.
Dip it in the herb salt they gave us and the juices come flowing out, with that rich, nutty flavor hanwoo is known for.

Jebi-chumi, eobjin-sal, and then the saewoo-sal
First, the jebi-chumi and eobjin-sal had a wonderfully chewy texture and a clean, mild flavor. The saewoo-sal that was on top of the pile came next.
It was grilled to almost medium-rare, and I was worried it might be a bit tough, but it literally melts in your mouth...
My companion and I kept nodding the second we ate it, hahaha. It's so, so tender, and with the charcoal aroma on top, this is a Michelin star right here.

This is why people do BBQ when they camp, I thought.

Finally, the sirloin
The sirloin at the end was the cut where I could taste the deepest beefy aroma, I'd say. Clean-tasting yet nutty, with fat and lean in nice balance, it made a mild-and-savory finale.
Tips before you shop for camping BBQ
- Parking: I visited at the end of September, and a notice said the public parking lot becomes paid from October 2026.
- Seasoning: Even if you forgot to bring salt or ssamjang (seasoned dipping paste), Jeongyuk Mart in Yangpyeong has it all covered. The assortment platter also comes with green onion salad, salad sauce and herb salt, so you don't need to buy salt separately.
- Sides: They put green onion salad in with the meat, and you can also buy ssam radish (pickled radish wraps) and leafy greens, so you can sort out the meat's accompaniments at this one shop without a supermarket. They also sell soup dishes you could eat for breakfast the next day, which would be even better for a family visit.
- Price: I was told they buy directly at auction from the Eumseong Nonghyup slaughterhouse and do all the deboning in the shop themselves, so there's no middleman markup and prices are reasonable. Sure enough, two of us ate until our bellies were bursting, and even though it was hanwoo, it came to under ₩100,000.
