Ulsan shabu-shabu buffet, 5 plates of beef and mango dessert: Wabom

I stuffed myself with all the shabu-shabu (hot pot with thinly sliced meat) I could eat, plus dessert, at Wabom Ulsan Mugeo Branch (와봄 울산무거점), a well-known Ulsan spot for family meals. There's a photo zone right next to it too, so go make some memories!

Where to park at Wabom Ulsan Mugeo Branch

The restaurant is in Hansol Apple Tower, but you don't park there. Park in the Malgeunsaem parking tower (맑은샘 주차타워) right across the street. When you leave, tell them your license plate number and they'll register it for you!

Take the elevator all the way up to the 10th floor and you'll find the Wabom premium shabu-shabu and seafood buffet. Check the price list for lunch, dinner and more~

We went on a weekday lunch, so we got the more affordable price. You can also choose half-and-half broth, which is what most people seem to go for.

Atmosphere and seating at Wabom Ulsan Mugeo Branch

The restaurant is enormous, a big place that holds 150+ people. We arrived around 2 p.m. on a weekday and were shown to a prime window seat. Being on the 10th floor, the view is great and the open feel makes a shabu-shabu buffet family meal even more relaxed.

What's on the shabu-shabu, seafood and salad bar?

Wabom is packed with shabu-shabu and rice paper wrap (월남쌈) ingredients. Everything is fresh and well kept, so you can fill up on vegetables and go back as many times as you like.

There's seafood too, like clams, shrimp, mussels, scallops and squid, which you can boil together. Just seeing this, the value is the best!

The salad bar buffet is also loaded with sausages, bossam (boiled pork wraps), spaghetti, beef bulgogi and fried rice, so picking and choosing is half the fun. A Ulsan buffet that people of all ages will welcome, highly recommended.

Which beef cuts are unlimited at Wabom?

The real kicker at Wabom is that beef chuck, brisket and round are unlimited, so you can bring as much as you want! I had about 5 plates and happily ate my fill of beef, yum yum.

There's a drink dispenser, and the dessert line is full of tasty fresh fruit. I brought mango, orange, grapefruit and cake and topped up on sugar at the end~ haha

Half-and-half broth: spicy and regular in one pot

If you choose half-and-half broth, you can enjoy two flavors, spicy and regular, in one pot~

I brought a heaping plate of vegetables too: onion, mushrooms, bean sprouts, napa cabbage, green onion and more. Pile them in to make the broth rich and hearty~

There are several cuts of beef, so you can pick what suits you and cook it in the broth. I tried it first in the clear broth, and the taste changes depending on which broth you use.

From pumpkin porridge to sushi, tempura and Korean dishes

The first thing I grabbed at Wabom was pumpkin porridge, because at a buffet eating porridge first lets you eat more, haha. The most eye-catching thing was the sushi line. There's a variety, like California rolls, salmon sushi, shrimp, beef and fried tofu pouch sushi (yubu chobap), and picking them one by one is a lot of fun.

Next I got fried items: gorgonzola pizza, french fries, shrimp tempura, chicken and other seriously tasty things.

I also brought small portions of things I hadn't tried, like tofu with kimchi (dubu kimchi), bossam, spaghetti and beef bulgogi, and nibbled my way to a full belly again.

I made a rice paper wrap too: 2 pieces of well-cooked beef, pineapple and vegetables packed in, dunked in my favorite sauce, and I took one big bite, aaah!

Mango, grapefruit and ice cream for dessert

For the last dessert I had sweet fruit like mango and grapefruit plus ice cream, and ended on a sweet note. From beef to the vegetable self-bar, the Wabom shabu-shabu buffet in Ulsan has so much variety that it's saved on my list for another family get-together~!
