Why I went looking for a diet lunch near Jonggak Station
I've put on quite a bit of weight lately. I don't want to just munch on plain leaves.. I wanted a tasty salad, and while searching I heard about a high-protein, diet-friendly spot near Jonggak Station, so I went straight there!
Wystab Diet Gwanghwamun location, parking and days off
Wystab Diet Gwanghwamun is on the first basement floor of Le Meilleur (르메이에르)! It's close to both Jonggak Station and Gwanghwamun Station, so it's easy to reach by public transport, and since there's free parking it's convenient by car too!
The area is full of office workers, so it only runs on weekdays and is closed on weekends! If you're planning a visit, definitely check that first!
Wystab Diet Gwanghwamun is said to be Korea's first protein box specialty shop! Every menu item reportedly has 30 g or more of protein, so it's a great Jonggak Station lunch for people who already watch what they eat, and for anyone suddenly prepping for a diet!

The protein boxes come in four main types: chicken, smoked duck, salmon and beef, and you can also pick the trendy mala (numbing-spicy) flavor! Ordering a set menu works out cheaper, and besides protein boxes there's diet-friendly pasta and a protein don (rice bowl) that's mostly egg!

The inside of Wystab Diet Gwanghwamun was clean and tidy! It seemed well kept hygienically, so it felt like a Jonggak Station spot you can trust 🙏
There's a Naver receipt review event going on, so keep that in mind when you visit! Another good thing: a prepayment event was running, so I could enjoy it at better value!

No chickpeas, extra veggies: my custom drink set
I ordered the chicken protein box drink set. I picked oats for the base and upsized it. I don't usually like chickpeas, so I skipped them and added lettuce, bell pepper, broccoli and olives! I loved that you can customize everything to your taste 💚
They packed my order neatly so nothing got messy!
I paid extra to change the set's default drink to an Americano, and for someone who drinks coffee on the light side, it tasted nutty and good!
How the chicken oat protein box tasted
At Wystab Diet Gwanghwamun you can choose the base for your chicken protein box. There's a wide range: veggies only (no extra charge), oats, pasta, mala pasta, tofu noodles, mala tofu noodles and cauliflower rice. I went with oats!
The food in protein boxes like this is usually all cold and a bit hard to get through, but they cook it on the spot, so it was warm and nice to eat!
I chose wasabi mayo for the sauce, and dipping the chicken in it was a really good combination! The chicken breast wasn't dry at all, it was tender, easy to chew and delicious!
The lettuce was fresh, and with fried onion flakes, green beans and more mixed in, the textures were great!
Oats better than other salad shops
What was especially better than at other salad or poke places was the oats! Oats are usually hard and not great in texture, but at Wystab Diet Gwanghwamun they're, how should I put it, chewy? So I chewed each bite more carefully, and the more I ate the nuttier and tastier it got!
Finishing one whole protein box left me really full! A Jonggak Station spot where you get nutrition and a diet at the same time!
Greek yogurt for dessert: ₩3,900
The Greek yogurt at Wystab Diet Gwanghwamun is ₩3,900. I'd have been in trouble if I'd skipped it!! The portion isn't overwhelming, it's a decent amount for the price, and it was really, really good!!
I think I'll order from here again! haha Wystab Diet Gwanghwamun, where even the dessert fit together well~! Next time I'll try a different menu! If you're looking for a Jonggak Station diet lunch, I recommend Wystab Diet Gwanghwamun!
