Heeol Hair Gangnam Flagship Store is a hair salon on the 3rd floor of a building a 5-minute walk from Sinnonhyeon Station Exit 6 in Gangnam, Seoul. After 8 months of neglecting stubborn wavy roots, the writer got root magic straightening, a C-curl perm on the lower half, and a full re-cut from scratch on request. A solid pick for anyone who has let their wavy hair go untreated and wants it all sorted out in one visit.
Anok is a Korean restaurant in a standalone hanok up a staircase in Hongdae, Mapo, Seoul, a 7-minute walk from Hongik University Station Exit 9. Anok serves Pyongyang naengmyeon (cold buckwheat noodles) at 14,000 won, bibim Pyongyang naengmyeon at 15,000 won and pork tail jjim (braised pork tail) at 29,000 won, and on a first-ever taste the naengmyeon seemed plain but kept coming to mind a day later. Staff push tables together for up to 12 people, so Anok works for family meals and group dinners as well.
