Hi everyone 🙂 I'd been neglecting my wavy hair for quite a while, and I finally hit the point of "okay, I really can't do this anymore!!" so I rushed off to the salon. Sometimes even after straightening, the result doesn't come out fully natural, so this time I dug through reviews carefully and went to a Gangnam Station / Sinnonhyeon Station hair salon — Heeol Hair Gangnam Flagship Store.

Go into the alley next to the CGV and walk straight for about 160m until you see a Seven Eleven convenience store. Keep going to the right past that building, and on your left you'll spot the photo booth (BYTP) building — Heeol Hair is on the 3rd floor!
Once you spot this standee — which matches Heeol Hair's vibe perfectly — just take the elevator up to the 3rd floor.
I read through reviews carefully on Naver beforehand and booked with designer Lee Hyun!! Just a heads-up that they're closed every Tuesday!

I arrived a little early for my appointment, and they showed me to a sofa where I could relax comfortably before the service 🫧
As you can see, the salon is huge and spotless! When a salon feels messy you kind of think 'did I come to the wrong place...?' but when it's this clean, it somehow feels like they'll take extra care with my hair too, haha.
While I was sitting and waiting on the sofa, they showed me a drink menu. I picked iced green tea 🍵
And at the heat-treatment seats, there's an outlet and a phone stand set up like this!! My designer, Lee Hyun, even brought me a phone charger right away, so I could use my phone the whole time without worrying about battery haha (the most important thing for a phone addict ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️)

8 months of neglected wavy hair — starting with the consultation
First, I moved seats for a consultation on what style to go for.
Yeah. Pretty serious, right? As for my hair... it's naturally quite wavy, so I used to get root magic straightening without fail every 4–6 months... but I don't know why, but every once in a while the temptation to quit straightening just creeps up on you.
So instead of straightening last December, I got a perm on the lower part, and for about 8 months since then I've only gotten cuts and done no other treatments. My hair is truly a mess... right? ㅎ So I went looking for a designer who would work on it with extra care!! (save my hair, please)
The shampoo room is paradise
The shampoo room is also spacious and clean haha. They cover you with a really thick blanket, and you basically start drifting off to sleep during the shampoo, eyes rolling back. It's paradise.
Such gentle hands, honestly haha. Designer Lee Hyun told me exactly what stage we were at throughout the whole process and was so meticulous about everything — it made me feel really comfortable.
Result: root magic straightening + lower C-curl perm
Ta-da!!! All done ✨ Roots straightened with magic straightening, and the lower half permed into a C-curl.
I can't even remember the last time my hair looked this neat ㅠㅠ Designer Lee Hyun is so thorough with the straightening, but also incredibly careful with cutting. Partway through the cut, I asked if she could make the overall length a bit shorter, and she went back and re-cut it from the very first step ㅠㅠ (if I'd known that, I would've just stayed quiet... I felt so bad). There wasn't a single uneven section anywhere, the cut was done so well that it made the whole result even more satisfying!!

Before & after, it's basically a makeover-show-level transformation 🥵
Oh, and one more thing!! Heeol Hair has a restroom inside the salon, so you don't have to wander around the building looking for one mid-service~!! (a huge plus point)
