Hapjeong café to beat 37°C heat, dark Guatemala drip: Central Site

The weather's been really brutal lately~~ On days like this I always end up craving a really good coffee. I had somewhere to be in Hapjeong, so I looked around the area, and there was a café packed full even on a weekday — I got curious and went to check it out!! This is Central Site Hapjeong :)

Central Site Hapjeong's location and hours

Central Site Hapjeong is on the 1st floor at 20 Yanghwa-ro 7-gil, Mapo-gu, Seoul, close to Exit 2 of Hapjeong Station :) Hours are Mon–Fri 08:00–22:00, Sat–Sun 08:30–22:00, and last order is at 21:30.

It's right next to the Hapjeong Homeplus Mecenatpolis building, so it was super easy to find~~! Even from a distance the shop looked so pretty it caught my eye right away haha.

The interior, the vibe, and the AC on a 37°C heatwave day

Once I actually stepped inside I liked it even more! First of all, the shop is really cool and cold~~~ And since they roast their own beans there, there was a roasting machine right in the store haha.

The lighting was so pretty, and I really liked the overall vibe of the place~~ The soft lighting and clean interior gave it such a great atmosphere haha. If the weather gets cooler, I think it'd be lovely to sit on the outdoor terrace seats too~~ When I visited it was 37 degrees... a heatwave, so I used the indoor seating^^ The indoor AC felt like it was cranked to full power 🫢!!!

It was so comfortable, and even though it was incredibly hot outside, I felt myself drying off and cooling down inside lol.

Central Site Hapjeong has 6 to 8 kinds of specialty hand drip and filter coffee prepared, so there was a wide range to choose from!!! I think a café's atmosphere matters, but the coffee has to taste good too, and here everything was satisfying~! And if you ask the barista, they'll recommend something suited to your taste!

What really satisfied me was being able to smell the beans first!! And the setup for smelling the aromas was made in such a fancy way too~~~! That day I felt like having something dark rather than something with bright acidity, so I mentioned that and they recommended accordingly *.*

It was a Guatemala bean :) They also gave me an info card, so while drinking I could read more about the coffee in detail~~ It listed the processing method and other details about the coffee, and I felt like this place is truly serious about coffee!!! If you love coffee, I really hope you visit haha. I'd definitely recommend it as a date spot too >.<

How was the signature tiramisu?

I also ordered the tiramisu that's said to be Central Site Hapjeong's signature! It wasn't dry at all, incredibly soft, and not overly sweet — just the right taste that kept my hand reaching for more~~! And the ice was exactly my type... Drip coffee sometimes ends up too watery or not cold enough, but here it was clean and refreshingly cold, and I felt like they really paid attention to that too 🫢❤️

The pairing with the coffee was so, so good that I kept thinking about it afterward haha. I could immediately understand why it fills up even on weekdays^^

The staff were super kind, and the place was clean and cool, so it's great for spending time alone, and also perfect for meetups or dates haha. It was a real healing session with the fragrant coffee smell around me 😊

Overall verdict

I could totally understand why Central Site Hapjeong has been popular since it opened!~~ There are many cafés in Hapjeong, but if you're looking for a place with both good coffee and good tiramisu, save and remember Central Site Hapjeong 🫢 I was so satisfied that I'm planning to come back next time with my husband~~! The location, the vibe, the shop itself — I liked all of it! If you're serious about coffee, definitely save this one 😊
