Aroke Daegu Sigi Branch, a new café near Gosan Station in Daegu

Aroke, a new café near Gosan Station: how's the parking?

Aroke Daegu Sigi Branch (아로케 대구시지점) is a newly opened bakery café near Gosan Station in Daegu, and there is parking right in front of the café. To get to the conclusion first: between the easy parking, the interior, the bakery and the drinks, I was happy with all of it. 💕

So many new cafés with a great atmosphere are opening in Daegu these days. If you love cafés, just hearing that a new space has opened makes you want to go at least once. Aroke in particular has a wide variety of baked goods, so if you love bread, it's well worth a visit.

Aroke's interior has an impressive Korean feel

The first thing that catches your eye at Aroke Daegu Sigi Branch is the interior, which blends elements of traditional Korean architecture, such as a roof-tile pattern wall, in a refined way. The space is large and the tables are well spaced, so it was nice for spending time chatting at a relaxed pace.

Lots of cafés these days go for a clean, modern look, but Aroke was a bit different. The roof-tile pattern wall and other Korean touches, worked into the space so stylishly, really impressed me. The traditional feel isn't overdone, so it never came across as dated; if anything it felt upscale and tasteful.

The space itself is wide and comfortable, good for taking your time, and the generous spacing between tables made conversation easy. There are plenty of photo spots too, so I'd recommend it to anyone who likes taking café pictures.

How many kinds of bakery items does Aroke have?

The moment I saw the bread display at Aroke Daegu Sigi Branch, I was surprised by how many kinds of baked goods there were. There were several types of salt bread (a buttery roll with a salty crust) too, so anyone who loves bread will probably be very happy here.

Personally, the variety of baked goods is one of the things I look at most when choosing a café. Besides salt bread, the display was packed with all sorts of pastries, and I honestly struggled to decide what to eat. Salt bread is so popular these days, and Aroke had a good range of salt bread varieties.

👍 How does the signature iced honey latte taste?

Aroke's iced honey latte was a well-balanced drink, with a nutty coffee aroma rising up behind a gentle honey sweetness. You can choose your beans, and I picked the one with a sweet yet nutty flavor.

For my drink I ordered the iced honey latte, which is said to be the signature menu item. On the first sip I tasted a gentle honey sweetness, and then a nutty coffee aroma came up naturally. It wasn't just sweet; the coffee's own flavor was still alive, so I thought it was nicely balanced. If you like sweet coffee but find very sweet drinks too much, I think you'll be satisfied.

👍 Honest review of 3 salt breads: plain, lemon and mocha

On this visit to Aroke I ordered three kinds: salt bread, mocha salt bread and lemon salt bread, and the most impressive was the mocha salt bread. The plain salt bread was crispy outside, moist inside, with a good butter flavor, and the lemon salt bread charmed me with its fresh, zesty aroma.

Plain salt bread

The plain salt bread was crispy on the outside and moist inside, with the butter flavor coming through well. The salty, plain taste went really well with coffee.

Lemon salt bread

The lemon salt bread had a fresh, zesty aroma added, giving it a different charm from the regular salt bread.

Mocha salt bread

Personally, the mocha salt bread was the most impressive. From the first bite it had a nutty, sweet aroma that made me think of a coffee bun. But it wasn't just sweet like a coffee bun; the plainness and butter flavor typical of salt bread were still there, so I kept reaching for more. The coffee flavor and the salt bread went together far better than I expected, and I'd order it again next time.

🩷 Aroke, a Gosan Station café I'd happily revisit

Aroke Daegu Sigi Branch is a Gosan Station café I'd go back to, since I was satisfied overall with the atmosphere, the drinks and the bakery. There are lots of new cafés these days, but sometimes only the interior is good, or only the desserts. Aroke wasn't like that.

The interior, which expresses Korean sensibility in a modern way, especially stayed with me, and thanks to the varied bakery items and tasty salt bread I had a very satisfying time. If you're looking for a café with a nice atmosphere near Gosan Station, and you like salt bread, I think Aroke is worth a visit at least once. Next time I plan to go back and try the other bakery items one by one 💕
